As a Consultant, Dr Ansari led and developed a large and nationally recognised IBD service at the Surrey and Sussex Trust.
Key achievements include writing and delivering the IBD Treatment Pathways and the application of his research findings for the benefit of patients through the improved use of azathioprine and other immunosuppressives.
Dr Ansari's research has been supported with grants and work through the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Academic Health Science Network (KSS AHSN) and through his role as a visiting Professor at the University of Surrey.
His specific areas of expertise include IBD, complex Crohn's Disease, immunosuppressive therapies and all therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy.
