After obtaining membership of the Royal College of Pathologists (Haematology), he became a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist/Oncologist and the Director of the Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Programme in the Royal Marsden Hospital in 1997. He is a full member of the CCLG and the American Society of Haematology.
