In September 2019, in view of my pelvic ultrasound scan findings, I had to undergo a hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy. There were two options discussed with me regarding the procedure: an out-patient hysteroscopy or a day-case hysteroscopy. Although I was a bit anxious about the pain and discomfort which might be involved during the procedure, I consented to the first option. My gynaecologist was Dr Anupama Shahid. She was just wonderful, extremely nice and kind as a human being, and an expert and super-excellent as a doctor. She performed the procedure so gently and so skilfully that truly and honestly, I didn't experience any pain at all - only feeling a little bit of pressure when some solution was used, which was quite tolerable. Therefore, I feel honoured to highly recommend Dr Anupama Shahid to any patient who might need a hysteroscopy and/or beyond.

I was extremely nervous about the first appointment, as I had experienced pain on examination by other healthcare providers, however Mrs Shahid put my mind at rest, was so patient and understanding that even the internal examination I had dreaded was a positive experience! All the explanations I received about my condition, the medication, risks and benefits were clear, and any questions I had were answered. I consider myself a very satisfied patient, and would recommend Mrs Shahid.

She explained everything clearly, so I felt totally relaxed and reassured I was in safe hands whilst having my procedure. She is very thorough and made sure extra tests were carried out due to my family history, which has put my mind to rest. Dr Shahid was kind, approachable, knowledgeable and informed within her field and gave me as much time as I needed to explain my symptoms and provided the resulting options available to me.
