I find Dr Srirangalingam a very personable and professional consultant. He takes his time in clinics and doesn't rush to get on to see the next patient. He is very approachable. He listens and he explains things in Laymans terms. If I don't understand something he is happy to go over things again and recap at the end of the session. When I have issues with my medication or a general question about something, he is fairly quick to reply to my emails too.

Reply from Umasuthan Srirangalingam

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that the consultation felt rushed. The NHS, post-pandemic, remains under considerable pressure and it is sometimes difficult to allocate more time for each consultation. We continue to look at ways we can improve the NHS service we provide but it remains challenging.

Explanation

I appreciate very much Dr Srirangalingam's knowledge, expertise, professionalism, patience and willingness to listen. I am very happy and grateful that Dr Srirangalingam recommended the GnRH test which indicated more clearly the source of my high level of testosterone. My particular excitement in relation to this is because for the last nine years or so the only options offered to identify the testosterone source have been the dexamethasone test or an invasive procedure to sample the ovaries. On my first consultation with Dr Srirangalingam in December 2019, I especially appreciated his patience and attentive listening thus enabling him to understand my fears concerning the above two tests on account of the condition of my adrenal glands. I truly appreciate Dr Srirangalingam's knowledge and help. Many thanks for making me feel I can rely on him and his expertise. This means a lot to me after the years of suffering with hirsutism and male baldness, when all my pleas fell on deaf ears. During my second consultation with Dr Srirangalingam (by phone) on 22nd June 2020, he further raised my respect for his professionalism by his manner of coping with my upset and frustration of having to wait so long for the GnRH test. Dr Srirangalingam fully answered all my questions during the consultation and clarified a number of issues. Many thanks for the care plan Dr Srirangalingam drew up at that time, and for involving me in evaluating options and the best course of further action. Thank you Dr Srirangalingam for trusting me and believing what I said regarding my symptoms.
