Dr. Rishi Goel is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and an expert in treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Within the field, his clinical interests include therapeutic endoscopy, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, wireless video capsule endoscopy and the management of orofacial granulomatosis (Oral Crohn's disease).
After qualifying from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical School, Dr. Goel undertook specialist Gastroenterology training in 2008 and gained extensive medical experience working in hospitals around London and the South East. He previously worked in Australia, India, and Japan on medical attachments. In 2012, whilst at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals, he spent 3 years participating in research investigating the Genetics and Microbiology of Crohn's disease.
Dr. Goel has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and has written a textbook chapter. He plays an active role in clinical research and is a principal investigator in multiple trials testing new Inflammatory Bowel Disease treatments.
Outside of work, Dr. Goel enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is a keen traveler, squash player and particularly enjoys amateur film making and motor racing.

I am so glad that I listened to Dr Goel’s advice and went ahead with the gastroscopy/endoscopy. As I was promised, it would be a good experience, and yes it totally was. Everything went smoothly and the sedation was amazing, no unpleasantness. Everyone at the New Vic was amazing ! I am writing this for all the people like me, who are putting it off by fear of the procedure, there is no need to fear anything, on the contrary, It was actually pleasant. And it is so good to eventually get to know what is going on inside your stomach ! Dear Doctor, I cannot thank you enough, you are amazing !

Very brilliant, helpful and comprehensive doctor found the light and hope for a new life, took very seriously my health problems and gave immediate solution, compared to NHS health care and GP which totally neglected me with long waiting times, while I become hopeless and let alone in my suffering.

This was my first meeting with Dr Rishi Goel. Before my appointment I was feeling extremely anxious and nervous. However, his informal manner immediately put me at ease. We talked about my home, Fiji, which he had visited as a young medical student; this made me quite relaxed and not afraid to talk about my current problems. I felt that here was someone who was really interested to get to know his patients. He has excellent bedside manners.
