Dr Philip Woodland, Consultant Gastroenterologist, currently works within the Royal London Hospital NHS Trust. He also sees patients privately at a London-based clinic in the Princess Grace Hospital. He is highly experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal issues and is very skilled in performing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including gastroscopies, colonoscopies, and endoscopic ultrasounds.

Dr Woodland began his medical education in London at University College London, where he graduated with a BSc in Medicine and Surgery. He then went on to complete his specialist training in London and undertook a PhD focusing on gastro-oesophageal reflux disease at Queen Mary University. In his current position, he ensures that his patients feel comfortable and at ease. He endeavours to make patients feel heard and feel seen, giving them the attention and time they deserve. He uses his experience and expertise, alongside the patient's concerns and quality of life to create the best treatment plans possible.

Dr Woodland is a very active member of the research community, focusing on gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and difficulty when swallowing. His work has earned him regular invitations to present his findings and speak at conferences around the work on these topics. He is also an active teacher, holding the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Royal London Hospital.
