Dr Shahidi is a highly experienced Respiratory Consultant based in Buckinghamshire. She completed her undergraduate medical degree from the University of London, graduating in 1993 and continued her post-graduate training in London also. She received specialist training at the Royal Brompton Hospital Specialist Respiratory Centre - the UK's most respected specialist heart & lung hospital and research institute; receiving excellent mentorship early on in her career.
Dr Shahidi took up her initial Consultant post in 2006, giving her over 15 years as a consultant. She is the NHS Buckinghamshire Lead for Tuberculosis, Bronchiectasis and Respiratory Infections and Long Covid. In addition to which she is the Deputy Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety in her NHS practice.
Dr Shahidi's sees patients with lung cancer, asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, respiratory allergies, sleep problems such as obstructive sleep apnoea & obesity hypoventilation, interstitial lung disease, tuberculosis, respiratory infections, Long Covid, investigation of abnormal shadows on chest x-rays or CT scans; with her many years of experience she is able to treat a wide range of complex conditions with care tailored according to the individual needs of her patients.

From the moment I met Dr Shahidi I felt at ease. I’d had a bad experience with a local GP who hadn’t explained a chest X-ray in a professional way. Dr Shahidi reassured me and made me feel more positive about my illness. She got my scans through fast and gave me the results fast, which were ok. I’d highly recommend anyone to see Dr Shahidi. She explains things in a way you understand and gives eye contact.

Dr Shahidi was very knowledgeable and gathered all the details of my condition carefully. After a physical exam she devised a strategy for my care which seems practical and appropriate.

On receiving the briefest of phone calls from my GP with no more than a diagnosis and a prescription I was very concerned and sought a more in-depth consultation. I chose Dr Shahidi because I knew I would get an honest, objective opinion and advice. Very easy to talk to, she took a very thorough history, taking into account other problems, reviewing x-rays and records. She then went on to reassure me and explain the problem in plain language giving lifestyle advice and told me what I should be look out for and answered questions. Very pleased that I saw Dr Shahidi and if I need any follow-up I would certainly book another appointment with her. Absolutely no hesitation in giving her my highest recommendation.
