About Dr Madhusudhan Mali
Dr Madhusudhan Mali is a Consultant in Pain Management and Anaesthesia with specialist expertise in spinal pain and neuropathic pain resulting from nerve damage. He has extensive experience in the assessment and management of chronic pain conditions, with a particular focus on minimally invasive interventional treatments.
Dr Mali graduated from Mysore Medical College, India, in 1997 and completed his postgraduate training in Anaesthesia in Mumbai in 2000. He then moved to the UK, where he undertook Higher Specialist Training in Pain Management and Anaesthetics in Birmingham and at Imperial College London.
He was appointed Lead Consultant for Chronic Pain Services at Darent Valley Hospital in 2010 and has played a key role in developing and enhancing the hospital’s pain management services. His NHS practice centres on supporting patients living with long-term pain conditions and improving their quality of life through comprehensive, evidence-based care.
Dr Mali has considerable experience in managing mechanical back pain, sciatica, neck pain and whiplash injuries. He performs a range of minimally invasive interventional procedures, including radiofrequency treatments, aimed at reducing pain and improving function. His approach combines clinical expertise with a patient-focused philosophy, ensuring that individuals receive personalised treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.

Dr Mali took the time to listen, had a very good manner and explained options, following my first procedure which didn’t give me any relief he then offered a further treatment. Even after that treatment I was experiencing severe pain and he called me to discuss my options. The second treatment has given me some relief, Dr Mail has been very professional and helpful throughout. Many thanks to him for helping me reduce my pain.
