Dr Cikurel is a very kind and understanding doctor. Her bedside manner is excellent and I would highly recommend her.

Dr Cikurel gave me more time to my potentially very distressing situation than I could have possibly imagined. Her technical brilliance is coupled with a genuine caring manner - a winning combination.

Suffering from seizures is an extremely unpleasant and dangerous illness. When I have one then mentally it can put me in a bad place for weeks and it can be a struggle. We all want to be normal. In order to help me deal with my condition, it makes an enormous difference to me to take advice from a top Consultant who is so easy to communicate with. Dr Katia is friendly, informal but has detailed and extensive knowledge. She is the best Consultant I have ever dealt with. This gives me the security and self-confidence to understand that I can always deal with the illness and that I am not alone. The help that Dr Katia gives has been hard to find over the years. It is liberating after 50 years (since early childhood) of struggling with Epilepsy to know that emotional intelligence combined with first rate knowledge is available! Up to now I have dealt with well meaning consultants but who have poor communication abilities. The long list of qualifications and professorships after their names is of no help to me. Obviously you lose a great deal of the communication over Zoom, and so I felt the consultation was a little more filled with awkward silences and talking over each other, but we got to a resolution, though that seemed to be stay 'as is', so no conclusive diagnosis of my issue!
