Dr Kalpa De Silva, Consultant in Interventional Cardiology, is situated working within the St. Thomas' Hospital NHS Trust. He also sees patients privately at the One Heart Clinic in Harley Street, London Bridge Hospital, and the Spire St Anthony's hospital. He is highly experienced in all general and interventional cardiology issues, with a specific interest in managing coronary disease (including multi-vessel disease, and chronic total occlusions) using minimally invasive percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) techniques.

Dr De Silva began his medical education at St. Bartholomew's & The Royal London Medical School, where he graduated in 2004. He then progressed on to do specialist training in general and interventional cardiology at King's College and St Thomas's Hospitals. Following this, he underwent a fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney focusing on complex coronary intervention. During his training he decided to do a research degree in cardiovascular medicine, he was later awarded a PhD for his work.

Dr De Silva is an active researcher, holding the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London. His current research interests focus on the management of heart attacks, angina and cardiogenic shock, and the use of mechanical circulatory support during stenting procedures. His research has resulted in the publication of over 50 peer-reviewed articles, and several co-authored books. He was also nominated for the American College of Cardiology's young investigator award.
