Qualifications
Dr Ahmed completed his MBBS in India in 1995 and completed clinical research in ‘Stroke in the Young' leading to his MD degree in 2001. After coming to the UK in 2002, he received MRCP in 2002. Dr Ahmed trained extensively in general medicine, stroke and Parkinson Disease in the Cambridge Deanery. He did research in Parkinson Disease, dementia and dyskinesias at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London and also received training at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery. He was awarded a MD (Res) degree and DIC from Imperial College London. After that Dr Ahmed completed specialist neurology training in Severn Deanery Bristol. He also received MRCP in Neurology in 2010. He completed a fellowship in Interventional Neuroraiology in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2012 he was made a Fellow of the European National Board. Dr Ahmed is a Consultant in Neurology in Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust and is involved in teaching students and junior doctors in Colchester.
