Dr Ibrahim Fahal is a Consultant Nephrologist at Spire London East Hospital, Spire Hartswood Hospital and Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital with a specialisation in kidney disease. Dr Fahal has been practicing medicine since 1998, following his appointment as a consultant in 1997.

Dr Fahal completed his medical degree at the University of Khartoum, Sudan in 1981 before relocating to the UK. He later completed his MD from the University of Liverpool surrounding muscle weakness and fatigue in individuals with chronic kidney disease. Dr Fahal is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is also a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.

Dr Fahal’s clinical practice is dedicated to the comprehensive management of various kidney conditions, including glomerulonephritis of all types, diabetic nephropathy, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. His primary focus is on preventing or slowing the progression of these diseases. He has special interests in uraemic sarcopenia, a condition involving muscle wasting in chronic kidney disease patients.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Fahal serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. His contributions to the field are reflected in his extensive publications in various medical journals, where he also serves as a manuscript reviewer. He also holds positions on the editorial boards of the Arab and African Associations of Nephrology journals.
