Dr Rutkowski listened carefully to my explanation of my requirement for testing for a possible penicillin allergy and explained how such a problem could have arisen. He then explained in easily understandable terms what the tests would involve and what I could expect. He was clearly very knowledgeable but also allowed me to explain my experience without showing any impatience or begin patronising. He was comfortable with my husband being with me for the consultation and the tests and did not object to him making notes of the conversation. I felt respected and comfortable in my interaction with Dr Rutkowski and confident that he understood what had happened and the potential seriousness of the issue and that he was taking the appropriate action.
