Qualifications


Mr Christos Plakogiannis did his medical training in Athens, Greece and he completed his Orthopaedic training in his home town in 2008.


In 2008-2009 he did his Fellowship in Hip and Knee arthroplasty at Royal Bournemouth Hospital with Professor Rob Middleton. He was lucky enough to to be part of a team that popularised Enhanced Recovery Programs in Elective Orthopaedics in UK, and in the years to come he has led the Arthroplasty Unit of Royal Bournemouth Hospital for 2 years.


After 6 years of practice at Consultant level, having refined his surgical skills and having reached surgical maturity, he looked into benchmarking his practice and gaining experience from visiting reputed Orthopaedic surgeons in Central Europe.He did his European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy fellowship with Dr Schroetter and Professor Stoeckle in Tubbingen, Germany in 2016.


The same year he did his fellowship with AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen : Study Group on the questions around Fracture Fixation) with Professor Varga in Szeged, Hungary.


Mr Christos Plakogiannis has a long record of Hip and Knee Arthroplasty procedures registered with the National Joint Registry.


In 2017 Mr Plakogiannis was appointed as a Consultant at Kettering General Hospital. He works at the Ramsay Woodland Hospital in Kettering since 2018
