I can't thank Mr Barua enough. A most excellent & professional procedure removing my cataracts. This has resulted in me having excellent sight now. Didn'think it would ever be this good - but it is due to Mr Barua's expertise.

The clinic is very welcoming even with the Covid restrictions. All the staff are friendly and highly professional. Mr Ankur Barua is an exceptional ophthalmologist. He has first class communication skills that put me at ease immediately we met and he was able to answer all the questions I had about my cataract with clarity and honesty. I had done a great deal of research so knew enough to recognise he was being totally transparent. The planned surgery went off without any drama - the nurses and anaesthetist were friendly in a truly professional fashion and were highly effective in their roles. Mr Barua carried out the surgery in such a smooth way that I was completely relaxed and the whole episode was painless and totally stress-free. His follow-up was exemplary and all that he predicted regarding how the eye would behave after the operation came true. Adhering to the post-op instructions is really important but eye drops four times a day is a little irritating. However, by making sure I did put the drops in daily, it meant that at the five day post op visit my eye was already well advanced in the process of healing. This will allow me to get back to some of the ordinary aspects of life earlier than would otherwise have been expected. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Barua and his team at the Midland Eye Clinic and I will certainly have the same procedure on my other eye when the time comes.

Mr Barua is a fantastic consultant. He is approachable, friendly, professional and has excellent knowledge and expertise. He always has time for you to ask questions and able to reassure you of any concerns. I was a particularly anxious patient however Mr Barua put me at complete ease and I would highly recommend him to friends, colleague's and relatives. Thank you Mr Barua and your team!
