Mr Akram made me feel at ease and explained in detail the options I have in the future. He answered all my questions and gave me confidence in his skills and ability. .This was followed up by a comprehensive letter from him received quickly after my appointment which confirmed everything I had spoken about.
Thank you very much for your kind words and feedback. I really appreciate it and I am glad I was able to help.

When I first arrived at the National hospital for neurology and neuro surgery I was in tremendous pain suffering with trigeminal neuralgia for over 2 years. I could barely eat anything and could not talk with my family and friends, I was losing weight and was becoming depressed. However on meeting Dr Akram he discussed with me what he would do to help relieve me from the pain and on the day I had the surgery I remember waking up and feeling hardly any pain, I even managed to eat a chocolate not to long after. Thank you so much dr Akram merry Christmas and god bless you.Xx
Thank you so much for a lovely review. I was so happy to see you in clinic smiling and taking! Chronic Pain is a horrible thing and nobody deserves to be in pain. So glad I could help! Happy Christmas to you too :)

On meeting Mr Akram I was totally reassured by his diagnostic ability. His follow up letter can to me via mycare of which I was oblivious and therefore did not see it for several days. The treatment injection needed seemed to be out of his hands but I finally have secured an appt today but only I suspect after Sharon Sulley’s intervention.
Thank you very much for the useful feedback. I can only but apologise for admin delays that are sometimes out of my hand especially when running a busy service. I will pass on your feedback to the neuroradiology booking team to ensure these issues are resolved as soon as possible

I found Mr Akram to be kind, generous, considerate and thorough. We spent a good deal of time discussing not only my health history but also on a personal basis, which I believe gave him a full understanding of my lifestyle and health situation. After a comprehensive examination he recommended I have an MRI, and went personally to the imaging centre to ensure I could get an appointment that evening.

It was the first time I had met Mr Akram and I couldn’t have wished for a better experience, from his introduction to leaving his rooms. He was very understanding considering the amount of medication I am taking. He explained everything in detail, giving examples of the surgery I am going to have.

I have to say that Harith ( Hari ) was Warm, friendly and welcoming. Puts you very much at your ease and actually talks to you as a human being. Explained what i needed done for my back surgery, involved my husband in the conversation and it was a pleasant experience to be treated with empathy, and to be informed with all that was needed . My operation went ahead and was very successful indeed . I would happily se Hari again . With Kind regards Jayne L H

Mr Akram was one of the surgeons who administered MRIgFUS on me for essential tremor in January. I remember his kind face as he explained every step to me, I was a bit nervous but his calm and professional demeanour put me at ease. Thank you Mr Akram.
My absolute pleasure! thank you so much for the kind review. I am sohappy the procedure was a success. I have treated many patients with tremor but I still get emotional every time the tremor goes away!

Mr Akram was initially polite and welcoming. It was obvious that he had studied my earlier scans and showed me those parts of the scans that he had identified as causal issues. He behaved throughout the consultation with integrity and professionalism, at no time did I consider that my age or other physical characteristics affected his judgement. He was frank about the future possibilities, including a clear explanation of the possible risks. He constantly checked that I understood his explanations, particularly where they involved technical terms. Unfortunately (for me) I have had significant experience of (mostly orthopaedic) surgeons, this consultation was one of the very best experiences. My condition has been with me for over 3½ years so I have engaged with a broad range of health professionals through those years. Despite the relatively low expectation of complete relief, Mr Akram provided me with a clear plan and motivated me to continue to keep myself in good health while I wait for a surgical appointment. Thank you.

Harith is a brilliant doctor whom I have had the pleasure of knowing since we were juniors, excelling both in postgraduate exams and almost clearing up all the prizes available. He is a compassionate surgeon, and technically gifted, and it is an impressive and valuable combination. It is an honour to recommend him.
