Dr Yiannis Kallis is a Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist at the Royal London Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust) and the Royal Free Hospital London, two of the UK's leading teaching hospitals, where his practice covers a broad range of gastro-intestinal diseases. He specialises in liver disease and disorders of the pancreas and bile ducts, and runs the NE London outreach liver transplant network. He is Clinical Lead for Hepatology at the Royal London Hospital.

He is a highly skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy, with a particular expertise in complex ERCP (endoscopy of the bile duct and pancreatic duct). He is clinical lead for ERCP services at Bart Health for the HPB cancer board. He is at the forefront of research into developing novel endoscopic treatments for pancreato-biliary cancers, and is a specialist advisor to the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in this field. He serves on the British Society for Gastroenterology (BSG) liver committee.

He graduated from Cambridge University with Distinction and undertook postgraduate specialty training across several leading London teaching hospitals. He was awarded a PhD in 2010 for his research into liver fibrosis, stem cells and regeneration at Imperial College London and Cancer Research UK, and publishes his work in high impact peer-reviewed journals. 

He is currently an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL, where he is a principal investigator on several multi centre clinical trials in treatments for advanced liver disease and for inflammatory disorders of bile ducts. He regularly lectures in gastroenterology and hepatology and supervises MSc student projects in liver disease at QMUL. He sits on the writing group for national guidelines in liver disease.

Dr Farooq Rahman is a Consultant Gastroenterologist practicing in the heart of London at University College Hospital. As well as Dr Rahman’s clinical and teaching responsibilities, he is committed to furthering the field of gastroenterology through conducting extensive research into diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel diseases), which has lead to many high impact peer-reviewed publications in renowned scientific journals, such as The Lancet, Gut, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Journal of Crohn's & Colitis and Inflammatory bowel disease.

Shameer Mehta is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University College London Hospital and Honorary Associate Professor at University College London. He has a special interest in intestinal failure, clinical nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic radiation disease.

He trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London before undergoing higher specialist training in North East London. In addition, he has developed expertise in caring for patients with complex inflammatory bowel disease as well as those experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms as a consequence of previous cancer treatment. Shameer is committed to service development and is the Clinical Lead for the Trust Nutrition and Hydration Strategy Group, a task and action committee concerned with improving nutritional provision for patients, visitors and staff.

His research interests include the role of malnutrition and nutritional care in inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal-failure associated liver disease and pelvic radiation disease. He undertakes a wide range of research studies including basic science, translational, clinical and patient-focused work including the impact of lifestyle on disease and vice versa. He has given multiple national and international talks in these fields and continues to publish in peer-reviewed journals.

He is also actively involved in teaching and education. He is an accredited trainer for the ESPEN Clinical Nutrition Diploma, co-chairs a module on the UCL MSc in Clinical Nutrition and Public Health, sits on the organising committee of the UCLp Clinical Nutrition Course and leads on the preparation and delivery of teaching courses aimed at clinical nurse specialists, dieticians and pharmacists.

Mr Stephen Warren is a Consultant General, Colorectal & Laparoscopic Surgeon based in London, UK. Following his graduation from University of London in 1986 he soon discovered an interest in laparoscopic surgery, finding that patients experienced less pain compared to traditional methods and also recovered quicker with fewer complications. By 1991 he had performed his first laparoscopic cholecystectomy and as a young consultant was awarded a national scholarship to gain experience at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in USA for a 3 month sabbatical.

He was the recipient of a Master of Surgery MS in Surgery for his published thesis from the University of London.

He trained at Guy’s, Kings and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in London. After which he completed his training in London and Wessex, specialising in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. 

Mani undertook his sub-specialty training and research degree at University Hospital Southampton, supported by the National Institute of Health Research. His Medical Doctorate was based on research into nutrition for patients with cancer.

He was awarded the Shire Prize for innovation in Gastroenterology in 2014 and NHS Clinical Excellence Aware 2017. His current research is is based on effects of nutrition in cancer and non-cancer patients. He is a regular speaker at national and international conferences.
