I am a Consultant Chest and Sleep Physician and General Physician with 7 years of consultant experience in some of the leading hospitals in the United Kingdom like Barts and Royal London Hospital including a recent post at Kings College Hospital, London.

My training and experience include expertise in Sleep and Ventilation, Bariatrics, Tuberculosis and Interstitial lung and Pleural diseases and in particular COVID-19 related ILD. Also had the opportunity to train in Royal Brompton and Harefield, Guys and St Thomas Hospitals, Kings college hospital London ,UCLH(University College London Hospitals), Glenfield Hospital -Leicester. 

I have had significant recent experience with managing acute respiratory presentations, including many COVID-19 cases in patients ranging from ages 17-100. I can offer a range of procedures, including performing and managing indwelling pleural catheters and endobronchial ultrasound.

On a management level I have been involved in establishing and improving several clinics and referral services. By combining my collaborative leadership style with experience in respiratory research, I was able to restructure a Sleep and Ventilation service as well as revise and implement guidelines for Non-Invasive Ventilation across an entire NHS Trust and design a new ward arrival process and manage the lead admission ward for COVID-19 patients, including setting up a virtual clinic for follow up of discharged patients in the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom.

Dr Kandiah trained in the University of Manchester, qualifying in 2006. He undertook specialist training in gastroenterology in the North West London Deanery and completed an Advanced Endoscopy Research Fellowship in Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth in 2017. His research on advanced endoscopic detection and resection techniques has been presented in national and international conferences.
