Dr Sehgal has a specialist interest in the early detection and treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD). Dr Sehgal is also only one of two specialists in the UK who offer endoscopic hiatus hernia repair using the trans-oral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) procedure as an alternative to surgery with excellent outcomes to date.

In addition, Dr Sehgal also has a specialist interest in pre-cancerous conditions of the digestive tract; these include Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Barrett’s Oesophagus. He has been a senior co-author of pioneering research for the treatment of early oesophageal cancer, including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA).

Dr Ian Stone is a Consultant Respiratory Physician. He qualified in medicine from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2003 with honours in Physiology and obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and Toxicology. He undertook his training in London, with time spent at The London Chest, Royal Brompton and Harefield, St Bartholomew’s, The Royal Free, The Royal London and St Mary’s Hospitals.

He was subsequently awarded a fellowship to undertake research into the effects of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a smoking-related lung disease, and its treatment on cardiac structure and function using advanced imaging techniques including cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The work undertaken has, and continues, to be presented at international conferences and resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications and awards, including those from the British Lung Foundation. For this work he was awarded a PhD degree from the University of London.

In his current post at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals, Dr Stone manages patients with the entire range of respiratory conditions. He is currently the Trust Lead at London North West University Healthcare NHS trust for Sleep Medicine where over 500 sleep studies are undertaken annually. As a Consultant Respiratory Physician he is consulted about cough, breathlessness, wheezing, sputum, coughing up blood, chest pains, snoring, and all other symptoms related to the lungs. He treats patients with persistent cough, breathlessness, asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, chest infections, pneumonia, tuberculosis (TB), bronchiectasis, pulmonary nodules, pleural disease, pleural effusion, pulmonary embolism, sarcoidosis, pneumothorax and sleep apnoea.

He is an experienced bronchoscopist including standard and endobronchial ultrasound guided (EBUS), biopsies and undertakes respiratory fitness to fly testing and cardio-pulmonary exercise testing.

Dr Stone has extensive experience of acute, general and emergency medicine. He is involved in the acute on-call rota at Northwick Park admitting up to 50 emergencies per day. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the British Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society.

Dr Brian Gould qualified from St Mary's Hospital University of London in 1973. His interest in cardiology developed whist working in the Cardiothoracic Department at Brook Hospital in 1977. In 1979, Dr Gould worked as a research registrar at Northwick Park Hospital. His clinical research focused on blood pressure measurement; a topic on which he has extensively published, including in leading medical journals such as the British Medical Journal, The Lancet and Circulation. He has also presented his research at many prestigious international meetings around the world.

He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist to Queen Mary’s Hospital in 1989 where he built up the Cardiac Department as well as developing his angioplasty skills at the Brook and St Thomas’ hospitals.
