The Westbourne Centre is a modern, state-of-the-art medical centre, located in the heart of Edgbaston's medical quarter in Birmingham.
The Westbourne Centre opened in January 2009, by four well-established surgeons who wanted to provide a safe and pleasant environment for their patients and have the opportunity to work collaboratively to bring about new methods for treatments. The Centre has brought together a diverse group of specialists, devoted to delivering the safest, least-invasive solution for every patient and providing the highest quality procedures and treatments in the world today. We have experts in dermatology, plastic surgery, dentistry and more. We are one of a small group of surgery facilities in the UK offering major surgical procedures using a local anaesthetic with sedation.
As innovators within their specialist areas, our consultants are committed to ensuring the options they provide patients will provide the best outcomes for each individual. From initial consultation through treatment and then aftercare, your consultant is fully engaged every step of the way. Patient safety and care is the highest priority of the The Westbourne Centre's consultants, the clinical staff and the administrative team working . As a private day facility, The Westbourne Centre is monitored and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who rated us as ‘Good' in April 2017.

Found the clinic to be staffed with very friendly and knowledgeable people. Mr Whu, my consultant explained everything about my problem and related to all the options that I could take. I opted for the operation and I cannot fault the work he did which has given me a very good outcome. I am very satisfied.

Overall I felt safe, the staff were helpful and responsive. Very clear covid guidance and protocols. The post-op advice leaflet will hopefully be refreshed soon to clarify some aspects, and the nurses had additional points to make.

A very comforting and friendly atmosphere with own parking access. Easy to find and directions well signed. Spotlessly clean and welcomed from the start.

The Westbourne Centre is located in an elderly brick building that at first sight does not really look like an eye clinic. The impression, in particular in the surgery section is a bit cramped, as there is little room to wait. That could be better. However, the staff is wonderful, they seem to have the most modern instruments and everything worked very well. There was an issue with the lens delivery, but this was not their fault and they handled the issue professionally and graciously. In addition, the aftercare was very good, I was called after the surgery, and had my check-up appointment very swiftly. All in all, a good experience. I am happy to have been treated there.
