I was welcomed at the Wellington during Covid. They made me feel at ease. Staff get on with each other. They are helpful and dealt with all my requests and concerns. I hate being hospitalised and unfortunately have had quite a few serious operations and this was a perfect experience. I would definitely go back and I did review the staff in hospital and only want to reiterate that staff on the ward, physios etc were lovely and competent, friendly and helpful.

The whole team, especially the nurses, and physio’s, who spent most time with me, were wonderful. Kind, caring, and attentive. My pain was managed at all times. Despite not being allowed visitors due to Covid, I never felt alone. Very grateful for the wonderful care I received.

The nursing care was variable. One nurse named Mary was quite wonderful. Gentle, caring and anticipated what was needed. One Australian was rough, slipshod, and gave the feeling of couldn't care less. The Hospital was well run and efficient. The physiotherapists were excellent. Meals not bad but some of the raw materials could have been better quality - i.e. tasteless iceberg lettuce, poor quality bread and cheap apples.

All the staff involved in looking after me both pre and post operation went out of their way to ensure my comfort. The level of professionalism and friendliness was very welcome at such an anxious time and all the nurses were more than happy to explain what they were doing, why I needed each drug and what would happen next. Even the cleaning staff were polite and friendly! The food was good and the staff were happy to keep me stocked up with tea during my 2 night stay there. My only negative experience was being woken in the early hours of the morning to be given the next round of drugs, but that was the nature of my treatment. I'm very happy with my experience at The Welligton.
