The Leaders in Heart Rhythm Care Consultant Group is comprised of The Wellington Hospital Cardiac Unit, The Cardiology Department at the Royal Free Hospital and the BMI The Saxon Clinic.

The Cardiac Unit at The Wellington Hospital is one of the largest specialist private cardiac units in the UK and an HCA UK centre of excellence. Some of the nation's most distinguished cardiologists and cardiac surgeons lead its specialist medical teams, performing ground-breaking procedures every day such as transcatheter aortic valve implantations (TAVI) and closure of ASD/PFO for patients at risk of stroke.

It is well equipped, with state-of-the-art facilities, including a new ‘hybrid' catheter lab and theatre and a dedicated cardiac catheter and electrophysiological lab. It also has a full respiratory function laboratory to assess sleep and breathing studies, and the unit is supported by two adult intensive care units. All patients will receive seamless care in a supportive environment.

The cardiology department at the Royal Free Hospital provides a comprehensive cardiology service with inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Their diagnostic secondary and tertiary cardiology services are state-of-the-art, delivered by a large multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled consultant cardiologists who are supported by cardiac physiologists, radiographers, administrative staff and nurses. Consultants in other specialities work in close liaison with the cardiology team.

This team of specialists is dedicated to giving patients swift access to high quality diagnostic cardiac investigations, using the latest medical technology.

24/7 consultant-led service; consultants are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide specialist care for cardiac patients. There is a designated ‘consultant of the week' attending service as well as a comprehensive invasive on-call rota.

The private patients unit also has a dedicated team of resident medical officers based on the 12th floor, who liaise with all consultants to provide comprehensive medical support to their patients.

The Private Patients Unit has three dedicated monitored state of the art high dependency ensuite rooms. All the nurses in the Private Patients Unit have been recruited with a clinical background or interest in ITU/HDU and coronary care.

Since its first opening more than 30 years ago, The Saxon Clinic has been heavily involved in helping and treating private patients in and around Milton Keynes, Buckingham, Leighton Buzzard and Woburn who are suffering with cardiovascular problems.

In this time, they've helped support and treat people with cardiovascular problems in a number of ways, including:

• Quick access to heart experts to assess, diagnose and treat without undue delay.
• Flexible appointments until 9 pm for consultations
• Tailored treatment and not a ‘one size fits all' approach, treatment or rehabilitation programmes are structured for the best results and to successfully manage the cause(s), with follow-up reviews
• A multi-disciplinary team experienced heart surgeons, physiotherapists and nurses through to occupational therapists and radiographers
