Treatments and Fees

Included
  • UK guidelines recommend that all people aged 40 or more should have a routine cardiovascular risk assessment.
  • The screening involves:
  • Medical history taken by a nurse or doctor focused on cardiac risk factors
  • A blood test to check your blood cholesterol and glucose (sugar) level
  • Your blood pressure will be taken
  • A score will be calculated
  • The specialists will give recommendations (including medicine and life style changes) depending on the outcome of the investigations and the score.
Included
  • Evaluates the heart structures by the use of ultrasound, or high frequency sound wave, which creates graphic images of the heart. The primary role of echocardiography in clinical practice is a non-invasive and cost effective answer to the structure and function of the heart muscle and valves. There is no preparation required for the test, it takes approximately 20-30 minutes and is painless. The echocardiogram measures the Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF) which is a measurement of the percentage of blood leaving your heart each time it contracts.
Included
  • A consultation with a cardiologist
  • Resting Electrocardiogram (ECG) to check the electrical activity of your heart at rest
Included
  • When you have a resting ECG, you will be asked to lie down and relax for about five minutes. During this time, a series of electrodes, attached to your skin with small sticky pads, will be recording the electrical activity going on in your hear. The electrodes are just recording devices, which can't send out any electrical impulses of their own, so you won't feel a thing. The information they gather is transmitted back to the ECG machine, which will produce a chart of electrocardiogram showing how the electrical activity changes over time.
Included
  • A consultation with a cardiologist
  • Resting electrocardiogram (ECG) to check the electrical activity of your heart at rest
  • Cardiovascular risk profile: total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides
  • General chemistry blood profile which includes: the kidney/renal profile consists of Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Urea, Creatinine, Bicarbonate and estimated GFR
  • The liver function profile consists of: Alkaline Phosphate, Alanine Aminotransferase, Aspartate Aminotransferase, total protein, Bilirubin and Albumin
  • Fasting blood glucose (sugar) for diabetes
  • C Reactive Protein (CRP): Blood test to identify inflammation or infection in the body
Included
  • An inital consultation with a cardiologist
  • Resting electrocardiogram (ECG) to check the electrical activity of your heart at rest
  • Echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) to check the function of your heart muscles and valves
  • Exercise Treadmill ECG to check the response of your heart beat, blood pressure, and blood flow to your arteries on exercise.
  • Blood tests are below: General chemistry blood profile which includes: the kidney/renal profile consists of Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Urea, Creatinine, Bicarbonate, and estimated GFR
  • The liver function profile consists of Alkaline Phosphate, Alanine Aminotransferase, Aspartate Aminotransferase, total protein, Bilirubin, and Albumin

I have used Cardiac Screening several times previously and will continue to do so. They have always been incredibly accommodating and Rekha in particular is always extremely helpful and reassuring. Nothing is too much trouble and test results are always sent so promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend them as an outstanding service.

I visited Cardiac Screen monthly to see my psychiatrist for the past year. The premises are a 10 minutes walk away from Borough or Elephant and Castle tube station. The clinic is neat and clean. There are magazines, and complimentary coffee and snacks in the sitting room. The manager Rekha is friendly and professional; she arranged my appointments and set up automated text reminders to my mobile phone which I find very convenient. Highly recommended.
