In general I was well looked after during my preliminary visits, and a short stay overnight in hospital following my surgery. Nursing staff were friendly and helpful, and the catering team attentive.

The administration teams at BMI The priory and The Edgbaston need to get their act together. With both myself and my wife the administration got the appointment times wrong and sent us to the wrong hospitals for our tests!! My wife had a hysterectomy at The Priory and wasn't given sufficient pain relief and spent 48 hours in agony constantly asking for pain relief medication and was just given paracetamol instead (quite unbelievable). In the end, she dismissed herself early only to be given the pain relief medication she needed at that point.

It was ok, nothing more. I expected more from private care. I was told at 5pm, that the hospital closed at 6pm. I understand that this isn’t the case and made for a stressful journey home. I have had a discussion with the ward sister about this. I hope others don’t have this experience. Given I was told not to lift anything too heavy initially I was offered no help getting from the ward to my car home.
