BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital
Welcome to BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital
BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow, Middlesex is part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals clinics, 15 hospitals and treatment centres in London, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.
As the largest independent provider of acute surgical services, BMI Healthcare has been at the forefront of the drive to improve clinical and non-clinical service standards across the independent sector.
BMI Healthcare aims to provide the highest standards in all aspects of patient care. This includes ensuring unequalled attention to hygiene and involving patients in the process to minimise any risks of infection. This enables us to maintain our excellent record for cases and rates of MRSA, Clostridium Difficile and wound infection. Detailed information is provided on each of these topics.
BMI Healthcare is committed to the provision of high quality care to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. This includes robust infection prevention and control activities to minimise the risk of any of our patients acquiring any healthcare associated infection.
BMI Healthcare's routine practice in relation to MRSA screening is to take a targeted and focused approach and screen selectively in light of the clinical needs of each patient. The availability of dedicated nursing teams, compliance with appropriate precautions, and single room accommodation, which can be used for isolation rooms if required, enable us to adopt this approach.
All NHS England and Wales Patients admitted under contracted agreement are screened for MRSA in line with the latest Department of Health (DH) Guidance.
An eradication programme is offered to those patients whose screening results indicate that they are colonised with MRSA.
Eliminating Mixed Sex Accommodation
BMI Healthcare complies with NHS requirements for the elimination of mixed sex accommodation. VTE risk assessment
Venous Thromboembolism (VTE), the current term which covers deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE), has been widely reported as being responsible for up to 25,000 largely preventable deaths in UK hospital patients each year.
As part of our commitment to clinical excellence, every patient admitted to a BMI Healthcare hospital or clinic will undergo a detailed VTE risk assessment on admission and then periodically during their stay.
BMI Healthcare is the first national private healthcare provider in the UK to be awarded VTE Exemplar Centre status across its whole network of hospitals and clinics by the Department of Health.
BMI Healthcare’s clinical and strategic implementation and on-going development has earned them the award of Best VTE Education Initiative at the Lifeblood National VTE Awards.

Clean and lovely staff
Physio therapy particularly good service in Covid times
Great experience, all was very good.
Very good overall experience
Staff are mostly friendly, and go out of their way to help. Very clean Overall good experience. What you want from a hospital.
The waiting time to have my first consultation to my procedure was excellent. My room was very comfortable and clean. All staff were lovely, especially the nurses who looked after me during my recovery, so caring and kind.
Clean, efficient hospital.
Sometimes BMI clementine Churchill seems disorganised and comes across as if departments don't communicate with one another properly. The reason I say this is because, prior to my procedure, the hospital would call initially confirming my appointment then I would get another call from members of staff trying to book me in again and again, when I was already booked in. The nursing staff's demeanour came across moody, not enough smiles. Other than that, they done a good job taking care of me.
I really like the ovaerall experience and the treatment I had...xx
Clean, friendly staff and helpful.
Excellent Hospital. Clean, competent, kind, professional staff. Amazing experience. Very very happy with my visit
Good, booked an MRI within one week.
Clean, efficient hospital. I have used this hospital for the last 23 years and I always gave a pleasant experience. However during my last stay - March 2019 - it was virtually empty
Very nice and friendly staff.
Lots of parking and friendly staff.
Good and will use them again.
Only one lady on reception a bit un-smiley, but all other staff were lovely.
It was excellent. Staff were so professional. so friendly. This was my first experience at a hospital in the UK. Way better experience than I would have received in America. I was so impressed!
All great no complaints
Breast clinic here was well organised. I got all my tests done on the Sat morning
Always looked at professionally when I visit this hospital. No complaints at all.
Overall my experience was good!
Waiting time was great And very friendly and understanding staff
The whole process at the BMI Clementine Churchill Hospital was outstanding. Staff were friendly and efficient and waiting time was always minimal. The day of the operation was a delight - the room was clean and tidy and again all staff were superb, as was the food! I was also very impressed with the physiotherapy department, whose guidance was a key element of my recovery.
Very clean and very friendly staff. Excellent and Professional.
Really long waiting time in a couple of visits.
Pleasant rooms and good service
I felt very looked after during the majority of my stay until the last day. I didn’t feel very well and wasn’t convinced I felt well enough to go home. The nurse in charge of the ward was rather rude to me and had also had an exchange of words with one of the physio staff as she also commented perhaps check my stats as I had suffered a couple of fainting Episodes. The nurse did speak with my surgeon over the phone and a blood test was taken. Upon my discharge not long after she then stood over me with an exit questionnaire and Commented I should say nice things about her i felt a bit pressured been stood over like that. This was a disappointment as the overall care was wonderful. A couple of weeks later following a check up I visited the ward to drop of chocolates, the same nurse completely ignored me whilst I stood and waited at the reception area for another nurse to come and help. I just commented I wanted to drop chocolates off as a thank you and as I walked away I heard the nurse ask - what was that all about. Totally rude and unprofessional.
I always attend this hospital If I am seeking any medical advice.
Over all everything was to my satisfaction
Very efficent and friendly staff from the nurses to the catering staff. Would highly recommend
