Nice quiet pleasant hospital with nice staff and good range of food. It would have been nice to have a day room to access during 3 day stay as a bit boring in a room alone.

Funnily enough I may have entered this comment in the wrong place. My only criticism is the standard of their evening meals. Whilst I was really only involved on two of the three nights I spent there, I did find the menu for the evening meal left much to be desired. Not a particularly interesting choice. Other wise all fine.

I knew this hospital well and was very pleased with the nursing skill. I have already made comments to the hospital management about the need to provide accessible mobile phone charging points and better shower room facilities.

All Chiltern Hospital staff deserves full credit for the effort they put into making the patient feel at home. In addition to the technical facilities such as a single room, WI-FI, remote control bed, I was able to choose the food to be eaten or something to drink at any time. On the first day I could talk and ask any questions in Polish, which was a great convenience. After the surgery I received full support from the medical staff and to my surprise the next day I was told to try to walk on crutches under the supervision of a physiotherapist, of course. During this several days' stay I had the impression that I was in "good hands" all the time, both for my doctor and for the medical staff. After just a few days I showed up for physiotherapy classes and after a few weeks I could return to work.

All was well and I was very happy to have treatment there. My only concern was perhaps the receptionists could treat all patients as bewildered, anxious people. We need greetings with smiles and very clear instructions ( on my first visit I unfortunately was sitting in the wrong place and waited for two hours! )

All the staff were extremely friendly but there were one or two issues where the nurses giving medication questioned me about whether I had had a tablet (which I did not know). Also I was quite poorly having passed out the day after my operation and my consultant said I required a saline drip. We waited and waited for this and after about 2 hours my husband went to enquire what was happening about this and he got the distinct impression that it had been forgotten and I was dealt with immediately and started to feel better. Also I had to do a urine sample and was told this would be collected from my bathroom but it was still sitting in the bath when I left after nearly a whole day. Staff were busy I am sure but I am pleased I had my husband there to chase them up on things. I did not get the impression that there was someone who was "in charge" and had a finger on the pulse of what was happening.

Most of the staff were very kind and helpful. Just one nurse insisted that I got out of bed when my blood pressure was very low and I felt faint, with the result that I collapsed on the floor and hurt myself .

On the day day I was booked in, everyone was polite and answered anything I asked about. My care and general treatment throughout was dealt with by Nurse Raam. Nothing was too much. The room was cleaned daily. The food and selection of meal was very good. The physiotherapists who attended me whilst in the hospital were kind and instructive in regard to my exercises. After discharge I have attended three sessions with physio Jo, who has been very good and taken me through the necessary exercises to further my recovery. All in all I was most impressed with the way I was treated. I would recommend the BMI Chiltern Hospital.

Some of the areas of the hospital look a bit tired. More often than not it is difficult to park and is very busy.

The BMI was reasonable and some of the nursing staff outstanding, but I thought the nursing staff were overstretched. Additionally, the rooms and condition could do with an update.
