Mr Mohammed Akmal

I have been under the care of Mr. Akmal since 2022, for treatment of Spinal disc degeneration. Without his professional skill and empathy I would still be in chronic pain. Having had a very successful disc replacement & fusion surgery back in 2023 under his care, further deterioration in other joints resulted in needing another bout of disc replacements and fusion in my cervical spine, and cortex spacers in my lumber spine. In late 2025 I embarked on another session of surgery and underwent the operation to replace, fuse and insert spacers in the offending areas of my Lumber & Cervical spine. I request both of my afflicted areas be treated in the same operation, whilst naturally cautious he undertook a rigorous assessment of the risks and eventually he and his team agreed to proceed. I had both my Cervical and Lumber spine treated in the same surgery and having entered at 07:00, I once again walked out at 18:00 on the same day. 2 weeks later the key hole wounds had healed I was off painkillers and well on the way to full recovery. My experience again is a testimony not only to the personal skill, knowledge and empathy of Mr. Akmal, but to all the people who enable such life changing surgery to happen, including the anaesthetist, surgical team, and ward staff. The successes of the surgery undertaken by Mr. Akmal and his highly skilled team are due not only to their professional skills, but to the holistic approach taken from diagnosis, explanation of options, type of painkillers and follow up care. Whilst the impact of aging and bodily wear cannot be escaped, Mr. Akmal does offer options to improve quality of life immensely. An interesting footnote is prior to the surgery I was suffering from Hypertension, post surgery my BP is back to normal for my age, a reflection of how chronic pain can affect you in more ways than one....!!

Mr Naga Venkatesh Jayanthi

If you are looking for an exceptional bariatric surgeon I cannot recommend Mr Jayanthi highly enough. He performed a gastric bypass on myself and other types of surgeries on people I know, he proves each time to be skilled, expert and very knowledgeable. Mr jayanthi works with a hand picked equally skilled team which together has left me in no doubt how fortunate I am to have found him and his workforce. My surgery results are hugely successful and my recovery journey and outcomes have been just as explained in detail beforehand and as expected. My aftercare immediately following surgery was extraordinary, I was monitored in a small dedicated ward with specialist staff performing nursing checks and monitoring throughout the remainder of the day and over night until morning. I was never on my own during this period and felt great care and attention was provided as a priority. I have also received many follow up, monitoring and advice appointments since my surgery where Mr Jayanthi has always taken time to respond to any queries I had informedly and intelligently. I was well provided and cared for by all staff at the Springfield hospital. I will always however remain paticularly grateful to Mr Jayanthi for his surgical mastery and attention to detail. Suffered with gallstones 5 weeks after having my baby, longest with NHS wasn’t ideal for me being a new mum let alone the anxiety of having another gallbladder attack. I booked a consultation at Nuffield for another surgeon originally and I made an error with my dates, by chance Michael had a free appointment the following day ( fate) Booked , attended consultation . Michael was lovely , uofront , honest and very to the point. surgery planned for 18th December ( 3 weeks from consultation ) I was so nervous about the surgery but meeting with Michael on the morning of , he was relaxed , very calming and made me feel at ease. Before I knew it I was back in my room and home by 8pm the same evening. Recovery has been great and had my post op catch up today. Michael you are a wonderful surgeon and your personal relationship with your patients is second to none from following up personally after surgery to putting a very anxious person at ease. From the moment I met Mr Karamanakos he was he was very attentive to my needs, explained every aspect of the procedure to correct my hernia. He went into great detail of my options as to which procedure would be best for me and that would produce the best results. After the operation he came and saw myself and my wife and spent time explaining what had happened during the procedure and what I should and should not do to ensure a good recovery. In the follow up appointment he again spent time with us on how I should proceed over the next 1 month. His explanations were very clear and easy to understand. Mr Karamanakos was very professional and was very easy and approachable throughout the whole time I was under his care.

Thanks to everyone at Freedom Vision in Bromley for giving me a positive experience throughout my time with them.  I was very nervous to have the procedure, but it went smoothly and led to an excellent outcome.  Having had my cataracts removed from both eyes and RayOne Galaxy Toric multifocal replacement lenses fitted, I now have amazing eyesight for distant, intermediate and near vision.  I am especially grateful to the optometrist and the surgeon for their expertise and care, and to Chirag, the Patient Liaison Manager who always made me feel well supported.

Had an immigration medical appointment for Australia. I was running late and had to reschedule my AM appointment. Sent an email as the call option was automated message but the email was promptly replied and I was rebooked for the next available PM appointment. It meant I had to wait longer but they were swift to accommodate me and the services from reception to chest X-ray and GP examination was brilliant. I was offered the Polio vaccine and a painless blood tests. Overall I recommend 100%.
