    Prof. Hector Chinoy

    Rheumatologist

    3.0

    Verified

appreciated the opportunity to see Professor Chinoy and I recognise his substantial expertise in rheumatology and inflammatory muscle conditions. He was polite, clear, and reassuring in his manner. However, I left the appointment feeling that some key parts of my longitudinal history were not fully integrated into the assessment. Despite having uploaded all my scans from 2021, 2022, and September 2025, these were not able to be reviewed together during the consultation because the files were not opened on the system. This meant we were unable to discuss the progression pattern across the years — including the shift from right-sided abnormalities (fatty infiltration in 2021, right psoas sheath oedema in 2022, and right paraspinal inflammation in May 2025) to the newly emergent left-sided oedema in September 2025. This remains one of my main concerns, and I had hoped to go through it as a connected clinical story. I also felt somewhat discouraged when the peer-reviewed publications I mentioned — particularly the Brain journal review “Axial Myopathy: an overlooked feature of muscle diseases” — were dismissed as unhelpful for patients to read. I fully understand the concern about online searches, but the review is a major academic paper describing: • axial myopathy being frequently misattributed to spinal degeneration, • seronegative inflammatory myopathies, • cases where paraspinal involvement is the earliest or only manifestation, and • the consistent issue that MRI abnormalities in the paraspinal muscles are under-recognised by non-neuromuscular specialists. These points felt directly relevant to my pattern of findings, particularly as my bloods have remained seronegative and several consultants have attributed the MRI abnormalities mainly to spinal wear-and-tear — something the paper specifically warns can lead to under-diagnosis. I appreciate that Professor Chinoy believes the fatty infiltration and oedema are most likely secondary to spinal changes. However, this does not fully account for: • the right-to-left progression seen on imaging, • the severe nocturnal pain and inability to turn in bed, • the sudden onset bilateral hand pain, stiffness and locking, • the persistence of symptoms despite minimal radiological change in the spine over four years, and • the coexistence of Hashimoto’s disease, which rheumatology felt was irrelevant despite autoimmune diseases sometimes clustering. I am grateful that he has arranged for radiology to re-review the entire MRI set, and I appreciate this very much. However, the consultation left me feeling that many parts of my history and symptoms remain unexplained, and that the published evidence on axial/paraspinal muscle disease — especially in seronegative patients — was not fully considered.

    Mr Sid Goel

    Ophthalmologist

Overall, the journey for this process was simple. An initial visit to see what my eye sight was like and what procedures were available to me. I believe due to job related issues that I had to have LASEK. An appointment date was set up to have the procedure done. On the day. I arrived at location in HRI and was kindly directed by staff members to a closed off area of the wing where the equipment was, I was met by Mr Goel and two nurses who went over the procedure with again and explained everything that was going to happen in a simple way. The procedure itself took about 15 minutes and most of that was waiting for numbing drops to work. I didn’t feel a think when the actual procedure took place. After the procedure I have had multiple check ups, some with some hiccups due to the medication that was prescribed after but that was due to how my eyes were reacting to them. Steroid drops caused pressure issues in my eyes. After stopping using them I had no problems at all. I was off work for about a month with LASEK, although again, given a different job role could have probably gone back to work sooner. I’m now 6 months post surgery and my last eye check and appointment revealed that I have better than 20/20 vision now. Which I am buzzing about. The only issue I have with is some glare In the evening from car lights, but before the procedure I was informed that this is a minor side effect of it and tbh, I can deal with it and it very minor. Overall, Mr Goel and his assistant have been friendly, kind and extremely knowledgeable in there field of work. I spent some time before the procedure mulling over different options but I can happily say that Mr Goel was the correct option. If you have any doubt about who to chose for this eye procedure / surgery. I would 100% recommend Mr Goel.

Very chaotic administration after the initial consultation (errors and delays in invoicing, typos in the written opinion and delays in providing price information for surgery). I felt that the staff couldn't be bothered to get things moving and I had to keep chasing them. The package price quoted on the website for cataract surgery also turned out to be very misleading because the consultant wanted to charge an extra fee for fitting a toric lens, in addition to the extra cost of the lens itself. This pushed up the cost considerably. This extra, hidden, consultant's fee had not been made clear on the website and I felt that I had been induced into paying for a consultation on the back of misleading information about the cost of the surgery. The consultant may well have been an excellent surgeon (I don't know because I chose not to proceed) but these issues made me very uncomfortable and led me to lose complete confidence in the hospital. Going to Moorfields Private was a complete waste of time and money and the hospital ought to refund the consultation fee.

I am at Kingsbridge Hospital for partial knee replacement surgery. Surgical Ward 1 - 28/11/2025. I am writing to express my deepest and sincere thanks for the outstanding care I am receiving during my stay at Kingsbridge Hospital, Ballykelly. The professionalism and kindness I am receiving during my care is outstanding. Sarah, Kerry, Laura & Kim (night staff) from Ward 1 have all been wonderful, nothing was any trouble and I want to thank them for going above and beyond to ensure my well being. Unfortunately, I can’t remember all the names of the staff on ward 1 when I booked in, but again these staff were amazing (Keavsa/luke). I have felt very at ease during my stay and that has come across naturally from you all. You deserve recognition for all your hard work and care you have provided. Please convey my heartfelt thanks to all the staff involved in my care, including the doctors Mr Acton, Dr Brian OG McLary and their team who showed exceptional expertise. Not forgetting the physio. (Fiona)? A big heartfelt thank you to you all. Joanne K

Mr Holland came recommended to me and as a doctor is kind, knowledgeable and empathetic. I was diagnosed with endometriosis 4 years ago with a different provider, but have struggled with symptom management and care options since diagnosis. Mr Holland and his office prioritised appointments, gave me optionality and, when I chose surgery, were incredibly reassuring and efficient. When presenting options, Mr Holland gave me all possible information in a way I would understand so I felt in control and could make an informed, independent decision. Mr Holland also presented options for after surgery, helping me build continuity into how I manage the symptoms. Honestly have just felt relieved under his care for most of what could have been a fairly stressful time. I would recommend reaching out to him if you struggle with endometriosis.

I recently underwent surgery at Kingsbridge Private Hospital, and I genuinely cannot put into words how grateful I am for the incredible care I received. From the moment my procedure was over, the nurses were by my side — kind, patient, and so comforting. They made me feel safe and completely at ease during a time that could have been overwhelming. My surgeon and nurse continued that same level of warmth and support throughout my aftercare. Their reassurance, responsiveness, and genuine concern for my wellbeing meant more to me than they probably realise. Their care and attention were truly outstanding — compassionate, professional, and heartfelt in every way. I am so thankful to each and every one of them, and I could not recommend Kingsbridge highly enough.

Dr Das and his team have been looking after my daughter for over six years. The service they provide has made a huge difference to our lives and has greatly helped my daughter manage the symptoms of her IBS. Dr Das is an asset to any team; he is kind, caring, and always has a smile on his face. His warm energy helped my daughter feel at ease during every appointment, despite the challenges she faces due to her neurodiversity. He always spoke directly to her rather than to me, and he truly listened. Over the years he has explored a range of options to help manage her symptoms, and nothing has ever been too much trouble. We are incredibly grateful for his continued care and support.

The doctor was thorough, attentive, and took the time to explain the progress of my son’s treatment in a clear and reassuring way. We never felt rushed, and every concern was addressed with patience and expertise. Thanks to their guidance, my son’s condition has improved significantly. The clinic is well-organized, the staff is friendly, and the overall experience has been excellent. I truly appreciate the high level of care and would highly recommend this dermatologist to anyone seeking professional and compassionate skin treatment.

He also takes great care to produce a first class Clinic Letter which clearly covers everything we discussed & the way ahead.

Very inexperienced physio. Took significant time to understand the problem. Asked all questions (clearly from script/list of qs), even when already discussed and known as irrelevant, or already covered the answer. Exercises provided in technical terms only, hard for lay person to remember and understand. Zero follow up even though it was promised.
