My wife and I live in Nottinghamshire and I was referred urgently to Mr Antoniou at St Marks under the National Referral Scheme, as none of the Colorectal Consultants in the Midlands had experience of my problem or in treating it. We only waited a short time for the appointment and travelled down to London. Mr Antoniou called us into the consulting room personally and his warmth and demeanour immediately gave us total confidence in him and we knew I was in expert hands. He took time to explain the issue in detail and the proposed surgical procedure which we then discussed. Crucially, we were part of the discussion as opposed to be spoken at, which we were very grateful for. Two weeks later I was admitted to St Marks and went to Theatre where, again, Mr Antoniou was very pleasant and I felt at ease, despite the procedure I was about to undergo. When I awoke on the Ward post surgery, Mr Antoniou visited my wife and I and explained that all had gone well, again very reassuring. I have recently seen Mr Antoniou in Clinic for a 12 month check and, as ever, Mr Antoniou was friendly and welcoming and reassured us that all was well and that if I had future concerns, I should contact his secretary. I cannot commend or recommend Mr Antoniou highly enough for all aspects of the care and compassion he showed to my wife and I during a difficult time, especially being so far from home. We will be forever grateful.

This is my second knee replacement under Professor Jari at Spire Hospital and I am highly delighted with the result. I had my left knee replaced in 2021 and my right knee replaced in November 2025, both under Professor Jari using the Maco Robotic Surgery technique. I understand Professor Jari has performed many knee replacements using this Maco Robotic Surgery. I have had no issues with healing or infections following my surgery and the recovery is going very well. After just three weeks in recovery I am no longer using crutches for support and my Physio Therapist has signed me off as I have full mobility in my knee. Professor Jari does set a strict exercise programme which in my opinion is the key to full mobility and a quicker recovery time. I would strongly recommend anyone who is thinking of having a Knee replacement to consider the Maco Robotic Surgery under Professor Jari at the Spire Hospital. This surgery is more accurate, less painful and a quicker recovery time. I have friends who have had knee replacements done via a surgeon and they have taken much longer to recover and in some cases suffered issues following their surgery. I can only speak from my own experience but both my knee replacements are perfect. The icing on the cake for me is Professor Jari has managed to straighten both my legs so I am no longer bow legged, perfect! Stephen W

The staff were incredibly helpful, understanding and supportive. I explained my concern and was given an urgent appointment. Vanessa S is the perfect person for her role and puts people at ease immediately. She secured me a hearing test and a consultation appointment on the same day. She also helped me with some of the administrative elements of using my private healthcare as the process has changed since I last used it. Very helpful, friendly, professional and reassuring. I was greeted on arrival, immediately shown to the waiting area and taken straight through to my first appointment, even though I was a few minutes early. I am transformed! I came to see Mrs Langton Hewer because I had suddenly gone completely deaf in one ear. She listened to me when I explained my anxieties and then examined my ears. She diagnosed otis externa which was causing pain and there was water behind the wax causing deafness. She then very carefully removed wax and debris from my ear and my hearing was immediately restored. I am so grateful that this was diagnosed so expertly and then sorted out immediately. I would strongly recommend her for ear problems and for removal of ear wax. Thank you.

Prompt, on time. Comfortable waiting area, convenient parking. Filling out the details on paper seemed a bit inefficient, couldn’t this be done online before the appointment and have paper as a back up? The on site pharmacy did not stock the prescribed medication, which was a little disappointing.
