From my initial consultation with Dr Dixit right through to my post surgery check up the service I received was fantastic. I could not have asked for any better. Dr. Dixit confirmed I had a small inguinal hernia. He explained the severity, which was quite minor in my case, and clearly explained the two ways to fix it. I opted for keyhole having a quicker recovery time. On the day of surgery, I was first on the list which was music to my ears. I was in theatre for 0830 and I was coming to from the anaesthetic by 10:40. I was on my way home by 13:30 that same day. Very little pain on the first day the next two days following I took the prescribed pain medication, by the fourth day no medication was required. Relatively pain-free after that. I couldn’t recommend Dr Dixit enough to perform this procedure. He answered any questions and explained in great depth what he was going to do, and any of the risks that may occur, fortunately Dr Dixit is extremely professional and he performed an outstanding surgery, four weeks later and I am back in the gym beginning to make up for lost time. Walking into Spire hospital at Manchester, I was greeted by really good reception staff who listened to what I said and then made it happen. It felt very well organised. Into the wards/clinics for treatment, I was again greeted by friendly, confident staff who quickly put me at ease and explained what was to be carried out. All of my tests/treatments were carried out very professionally, on time and with care and respect. I felt comletly at ease throughtout. 5 Stars in every respexct for the clinical staff and Spire Manchester. Bad Experiencies. Dealing with the Spire Online/ Phone back office and Booking System. It was diabolical in all aspects. It appeared to be very dis-jointed and not able to pass information on internally nor take notice of what I told them. I received meaningless paperwork that bore little resemblance to what was to be done and its timeline. The night before treatment, around 8 p.m., I even received an email that told me all my procedures/ tests were to be carried out in Liverpool, not Manchester. Very poor level communications from Spire admin. very bad experience for me.

My experience throughout foe both eyes and post care has been excellent. Dr Allam was excellent, very professional, knowledgeable about cataracts . My initial surgery was deferred from 2nd Dec until 16th December 2025. This was due to my right being unfected. Dr Allam reassured me that my surgery would happen before christmas. The surgery did happen on 16th December. From preparation to surgery Dr Allam and team excelkent in communicating to me the process Typea of Lenses and cost. Lynne (nurse) was excellent exolaining post-Surgery and demonstrating how to apply the anti-biotic eye drops .Excellwnt support was privided in terms of eye protectors,tape and drops. Follow up by Dr Allam was excellent abd made me feel valued as a person, not just as a customer. The surgery was a major success. On 6th January 2026 I had a last follow up post surgery assessment. Resukting in Dr Allam confirming through eyes assessments, tge surgery was a success. I want to say thank to DR Allam and team for an excellent support abd for the first time since I was 7 years old I can see amazingly well !

I always have a good experience when visiting the practice. The staff are always friendly. However, on the last visit I think there are things you guys need to review. I was in for a gel injection into my knee which was being carried out by Mr Dehne in the theatre. He had previously confirmed that it would be a simple procedure and that after a short time I would be fine to drive home. However, on arrival it was clear that the team believed I was in for a knee replacement. I was shown to my own room, asked to select from the menu for the following day, and given medication that I assume I didn't require! Further more, the team were loathed to let me drive home and I had to wait a couple of hours until they could check with Mr Dehne that it would be ok as all the paperwork confirmed otherwise. The theatre staff were double checking with me the reason for my visit so there was a checking procedure in place but you may need to review why there was confusion in the first place.

Mr Aemn Ismail

Under Mr Ismail’s care, I underwent a full hysterectomy alongside removal of my ovaries and a large cyst, by keyhole. Someone was looking over me when I found Mr Ismail; I feel incredibly lucky that he was my Consultant, and words really don’t do his skill or personality justice. Mr Ismail truly sets the benchmark for patient care and he sets it high. He is kind, empathetic, patient and, above all, human. He has a natural ability to put you at ease, which meant I felt completely comfortable discussing all aspects of my symptoms, treatment options and concerns with him. He always had time for me; I never once felt rushed and, most importantly, I always felt genuinely listened to. Mr Ismail is clearly exceptionally skilled in his craft, and it is evident how passionate he is about his speciality. His reputation precedes him, with every member of the medical staff I encountered speaking of him with the highest regard. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Needed a routine hernia operation, didn't want to wait 4–6 months, chose Royal Free Private Patients based on surgeon's online profile and because profits go to NHS; also I have been an NHS patient at RF. Was seen quickly for initial consultation and got surgery appointment when I wanted it. Mr Iype did a tidy job of the surgery, I am now recuperating with no complications so far and very little pain. Anaesthetists were friendly and efficient, and Severo my nurse in my ward was helpful, reassuring and friendly. I had a ward room to myself, which my wife could stay in while I had the surgery. It was clean and roomy, though a little cold – take extra blankets. The lunch I was given after surgery was pretty good, and they were able to get a sandwich for my wife too as well as teas and coffees. All in all, went very well.

Dr Thiraviyam Elumalai

I met Dr Elumalai first at Addenbrookes where he was reviewing all the tests and scans I had received there. He advised that if I had medical insurance he would recommend Genesis Care where the radiotherapy treatment could be carried out immediately rather than wait several months in the NHS queue. Other benefits were the insertion of a spacer gel to protect the rectum and minimise side effects. Also Genesis could provide the latest hormone treatment tablet, Abiraterone, which was not yet available on the NHS. At follow up meetings at Genesis, Newmarket, Dr Elumalai had all the test and treatment details available on his computer and could answer all my questions. He has provided reassurance regarding the long term effectiveness of the treatment and at the last meeting confirmed that my cancer was now in remission.

Hospital was dirty. Room was dirty. Was provided with a pillow that was fully stained yellow on one side with no pillow cover. One of the nurses saw it when he turned it over but I had already been lying on it for hours. Went to the surgery without any pillow only to wake up to another stained pillow without any cover. Found a toenail on the bed. Very unhygienic and was not comfortable. Staff were ok. Food received was not what I ordered, so left without eating anything. Will only be coming back for my second operation because it is the surgeons only practice that is close to where I live, otherwise would not be returning. Hygiene is most important in these environments and it was not to par at all. Worse than NHS.

I was taken into a room that was obviously not cleaned after the last patient as their clothes were still there. My postop instructions were to stay warm. I was absolutely freezing after surgery because the nurses turned the heat down to suit another patient. I was on the end bed and no one came to check on me for ages so I couldn’t get another blanket. I told the nurses at least three times that I don’t eat dairy. I then had cow’s milk and dairy butter placed in front of me which is offensive. The nurses paid a lot of attention to the person next to me, but rarely checked on me. I felt overlooked. By this point, I just wanted to go home but again they prioritised other patients so I was late to leave.

I have just had private cataract surgery at Newmedica Norwich, it was an exemplary experience, the staff were so welcoming and the surgeon, Mr Anas Injarie fully explained the procedure and delivered an amazing result. I no longer need contact lens, which I have been wearing for 50 years. Two months earlier Newmedica removed the cataract in my other eye under the NHS. That was a wonderful experience , going private for my remaining eye gave me the flexibility of appointment dates and a premium lens for the best possible vision. I now regret delaying the surgery, I now have two new eyes.

Mr Ahmed Oliemy completed a lobectomy recently because of an early stage tumour in my left lung. Mr Oliemy explained what he would do and what to expect post surgery. The surgery he undertook was a complete success. I found Mr Oliemy very sensitive and yet positive in all his dealings with me. I wish him well for all his future endeavours. He was always there every day, assessing our Mum, explaining his clinical decisions, and involving us in planning next stages of management. Approachable, empathetic, wise, he is a shining example for all of us who have the privilege of doing our job. St.Mary's is very lucky to have him.

I had a frozen shoulder for about nine months when I met Dr. Patnaik. I was in a lot of pain and had restricted movement in my right arm. But Dr. Patnaik was very positive. Explained next steps clearly which was an injection. Four months on and I have full movement in my shoulder and can now go about my daily life. The injection coupled with physiotherapy have been a game changer. I highly recommend Dr. Patnaik to anyone suffering from shoulder pain. Suffering in silence is not a solution.
