I have been under the care of Dr Alistair Ring since September 2024, and from my very first visit to The Royal Marsden, I knew I had made the right decision to begin chemotherapy there. During our initial consultation, Dr Ring immediately put me at ease, even though I had just received a difficult test result minutes before our meeting. He took the time to explain the Oncotype test for example and the treatment options available, making it clear that every step of my care would be centred around me. Dr Ring’s attention to detail and his encouragement to ask questions gave me great confidence and helped me feel empowered throughout my treatment. Following chemotherapy, I began medication that induced menopause, and thanks to his early guidance on potential side effects and how to manage them, I felt fully prepared. I also appreciate that he has been open to ongoing conversations about my treatment, including exploring HRT options, this openness means a great deal. The clinical staff at The Royal Marsden have been exceptional. They have consistently provided compassionate, professional care, and I genuinely look forward to seeing them at each follow-up. They remember small details and speak to me as a person, not just a patient, which makes every visit a positive experience. I cannot recommend Dr Ring and The Royal Marsden highly enough. I am deeply grateful for the outstanding care and support I have received and continue to receive from the entire team.

Excellent bedside manner with a true desire to get to the bottom of a problem. Free from the often occurring "I am so brilliant vibes" that I at times got from other consultants. Refreshing down to earth, approachable, very friendly. Most importantly, excellent listening skills, does not try to convenience you of a diagnosis after only hearing a quarter but appears to be thorough before making up his mind. Excellent communicator, who gets a patient fully involved, showing pictures to explain and explaining what he sees on a screen. I initially was a bit apprehensive thinking, hmmm has not got 3 decades of experience like some practitioners I saw in the past. On reflection, a good thing, still greatly motivated to make a difference and passionate about what he does. Deos not leave you feel watching the clock (he went over time, thank you) or rushed. Overall so far a positive experience (first consultation). I usually don't leave long feedbacks but if someone "goes the extra mile", so will I. Most importantly, if you had negative experiences before with consultants causing you pain/flare ups in the night and following day(s) due to handling you roughly during an examination, then give Dr Raiman a try. He very carefully moved my limbs with utmost consideration during the necessary examination, which helps building trust.

My experience with Quen was exemplary - at the time of first meeting him, my humerus had been fractured for 2-weeks & I was in pain, so he very speedily made himself available for a call to discuss the procedure, and once this had been done, booked me in for surgery the following week. On the morning of the procedure, he once again came to see me to discuss the procedure and let me ask any questions I had, which really reassured me. He then came to see me the morning post the op too, to discuss next steps. Ever since the operation, my arm has steadily been on the mend and this is no doubt down to the great care that Quen & the team have showed throughout. I've also seen Quen for two follow-up X-Rays where he has discussed the progress with me, and with this, I've been able to become more competent & confident in carrying out my day-to-day. I couldn't recommend Quen enough - not only has he been brilliant throughout but he's also a thoroughly lovely man.

I had a really positive experience at The Harborne Hospital. I was greeted warmly on arrival and was actually seen before my appointment time, which was very much appreciated. My consultant Mr Leung truly listened to me and took the time to understand the full picture of how I’ve been feeling. He was extremely thorough, and for the first time in a long while, I left feeling hopeful — hopeful not only that my pain can be better managed, but also that I may finally get a clear diagnosis of what is actually happening to me. I really appreciated how carefully and thoughtfully everything was explored. Every member of staff I met was kind, professional, and supportive. The level of care and compassion shown throughout my visit was outstanding. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this service.

Very impressed by Mr Howard from the first referral and pre-op information. He answered my questions personally in a friendly and totally professional manner. The open AAA surgery went well. Excellent care on the vascular ward with honest advice. Mr Howard visited the ward several times and reassured my concerns. He answered my post-op questions personally, and I just had a follow-up clinic with him, which again reassured me. I can contact him directly if needed. I've been very impressed with the the whole process from the screening program at 65, through rapid referral when it was triggered. He gave me a planned operation date at the first referral which held. The elective journey has been smooth and impressive throughout.

I found Dr Hadavi to be very patient and an excellent listener. I didn't feel that he rushed me at all and he took the time to listen to my long and somewhat complicated medical history and symptoms. He asked lots of questions and I felt he was very comprehensive in his consultation and thorough in his examination. I suffer with anxiety and find medical environments very triggering due to previous negative experiences with medical professionals, but Dr Hadavi made me feel respected and at ease and I felt reassured at the end of the appointment. He was also very quick to respond to my queries over email. He has referred me for tests and I feel confident that he will be able to help me get the answers and treatment I need.

Mr Chris Thomas is the best surgeon a person could wish for. He explains all aspects of your injury and the required follow up procedure in clear precise terms. All concerns were queried one to one with Chris via email. Response was swift and informative. Surgery experience was relaxed and a pleasure knowing that all my concerns were taken on board and acted on. The whole experience was first class, and the outcome has been life changing. I am now back mountain biking and enjoying life pain free for the first time in over a decade. All this after only 11 weeks post op. I cannot rate Chris Thomas highly enough. Communication and competence goes above and beyond any other surgical experience I have encountered.

Great! Excellent overall experience. Facilities in general good, room, cleanliness, staff and procedure. I really am a fan, and if necessity arises would return with a lot of confidence that things would go well. Two small items of feedback : Negative - situation of the centre is not ideal and some patients get a view of a dingy disused courtyard . This is a minor point ! Food could be a little more interesting. Positive - its both reassuring and positive that the whole experience, especially the excellent staff, are so personal. The patient feels that care is tailored specifically to them. Little danger of removing the wrong leg! Warm human interchanges throughout, which is very, very good!

I found Mr Nair to be very personable and attentive. He took copious written notes as I explained my problem and concerns. He suggested an adjustment to my medication regimen, which will help with troublesome side-effects, writing to my GP accordingly. This is a particular source of relief to me. He has also made an NHS referral for me, for a separate, concerning issue. I am extremely glad that I made the decision to see Mr Nair privately, rather than wait for an NHS appointment. If I should need any further advice or support, I won't hesitate to make a further appointment to see him. This was a very positive and supportive experience, Thank you Mr Nair.

I have been under Mr Charalamous's care for around 3 years. I have always found him to be easy to talk to & he explains things in a way i can understand. I had a botched knee replacement at Kim's in Maidstone which was very painful. After a few meetings to discuss what could be done we agreed a procedure. I have to say i am over the moon with the results. The recovery time was extremely short, after the insert replacement i was up & walking with no sticks inside 2 weeks. I am extremely happy & will request Mr Charalamous for me left knee once it gets to a point where it needs replacement. Top Surgeon.
