I had the misfortune to talk to Dr. Declan Morgan, co-founder of Duality via Teleconference, or rather be spoken down to. Arriving late and in an evidently bad mood to the call, complaining about previous patients issues being 'complex', Dr. Morgan dismissed my 25yr medical history including diagnoses, seizures, medication and family history. With regards to family history, he regarded their diagnoses for pernicious anemia as a "quasi-diagnosis", sowing doubt on the ongoing medical care recieved by my family - without any evidence to do so. He initially refused to read any of the medical history supplied to him, and spent the entire call telling me how much of a disaster it is to self-medicate an ongoing potential autoimune disease without once asking me about my symptoms, or why I had begun to self inejct with B12, instead telling me to stop despite this self-medicating having massive improvement of life (depression, fatigue, tremors, numb/tingling in digits). The entire call felt like a patronising session in telling me not to self medicate, despite that being the entire purpose of the call, I was seeking medical help to get a diagnosis so that I dont have to manage the symptoms alone. His demenor was dismissive, patronising, and dangerous - he outright refused to look at the provided genetic results that show I have multiple genetic markers for b12 and folate deficiency which is why I was self medicating. But instead of looking at the history, he sowed doubt into the diagnosis of my relatives (Sister, Mother, Great-Grandmother) and completely ignored the requests for more tests such as Intrinsic Factor, homocysteine, Active B12, MMA or a variety of other diagnostic tools which could help confirm or disprove the possible diagnosis of b12 deficiciency. Given the medical history which left me feeling completey inhuman without b12 supplementation, it felt very callous and dismissive to instruct me to cease all supplementation and medication for 3+ months before seeking further diagnostic testing. I was so furious after this call for days that I seriously considered cancelling my Duality membership. I have rarely experienced such a terrible bedside manner and I was left with such a terrible impression I really am no longer sure whether Duality Healthcare is a service I want to support. I have monthly calls with another doctor and her bedside manner and feedback has been instrumental in my weightloss on mounjaro and treating gout and other issues, if the experience with other doctors (both in Omagh and Newry) weren't as positive and reassuring then I would most certainly have cancelled. As it stands, I'm still in two minds.

I had two day surgery appointments for cataract removal and lens implants, two weeks apart. The first appointment was very straightforward from walking through the door to post operative discharge. The second appointment was less straightforward: despite me being first on the day’s list there was a long wait before my pre-operative assessment. When I was being prepped before going into theatre, the atmosphere in the room was not calm and reassuring, unlike the first time. There was sometimes discomfort during the procedures of anaesthetic and application of the opthalmic speculum, the latter of which has left me with a markedly arched eyebrow on that side, which is only returning to normal after nearly two weeks. As a result I felt tense entering the theatre. Everyone in the theatre was calm and reassuring however, and I was quickly put at ease. I had a positive post operative experience before being allowed home.

Attended Spire Liverpool for PKR surgery to left knee. I had been suffering arthritic pain for over 7 years. Mr. Kalra fully explained the entire process including expected recovery time during my consultation. On the day of surgery Mr Kalra met with me pre op and discussed the procedure and answered a few of my questions that I had thought of since my consultation. He put me at ease together with his clinical team at Spire. I was discharged after an overnight stay and was supported through this entire period. I have just had my 6-week follow up appointment with Mr. Kalra and happy to report that my arthritic pain has now gone.. I am continuing with my recovery programme and am sure over the subsequent 6 weeks I will have returned to full mobility thanks to Mr. Kalras clinical expertise.

The reception staff on the ground floor are very professional and helpful A couple of the ladies on the 3rd floor are not so professional, it’s happened a few times during my visits over the past 6 months were they can be heard moaning between themselves about patients being sent up early from the ground floor reception, I can only imagine them moaning about me arriving 40mins early, hence why I opted to stay on the ground floor reception until nearer my time slot This doesn’t involve the lady who works directly for Ali, she is more than helpful

I attended the clinic in order to have a steroid injection in my hip. The doctor carrying out the procedure was professional, friendly, reassuring and informative. The only slight negative was that when being referred for the procedure I was given no information regarding what to expect both during and after the procedure. Fortunately I had had a similar procedure on the NHS so was aware that the advice was not to drive so had prepared accordingly, as the doctor did ask after the procedure who was driving me home.

He took the time to understand my health status since our last meeting six months prior, provided feedback, and proposed my focus and supporting medication for the next six months. Dr Jenkins has been fundamental in my ability to manage CFS/ME as well as thyroid problems, and indeed to get back to having an active, functional life. His knowledge and understanding of these issues are second to none, in my experience.
