The only discomfort was from the operation itself, and even that was manageable with the medication provided. Recovery has been excellent. By following Mr Stables’ advice—taking pain relief as needed, keeping up with the exercises, applying ice, and resting—I’ve been able to heal well and regain confidence in my mobility. My wife had to have Cataract surgery on both eyes. The right eye was complicated cataract surgery by a dropped nucleolus. The Consultant Ophthalmologist referred her case to Mr Habal who performed right pars plana vitrectomy, removal of dropped nucleolus and secondary sulcus intraocular lens implantation. This complicated surgery was successful and it really highlights the incredibly skilled and knowledgeable that Mr Habal possessed. As I was due to have the cataract surgery on my both eyes, this gave me complete confidence and asked Mr Habal to do mine as well. He kindly accepted my case and diagnosed bilateral hypermetropia with astigmatism and the cataracts. The surgeries was a great success so that I now do not have a need to wear glasses except for reading. So does my wife. I couldn’t have asked for better care — an outstanding clinician and a genuinely caring professional.

Having not been inside a private hospital in a long time, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The Spencer is not luxurious in any way and there are no nods to suggest that you are in private hospital compared to run of the mill NHS establishments (I think many including me, have forgotten just how ropey most NHS hospitals were in comparison). It is however, a more relaxed environment and on a much smaller scale. Attention from staff was great and the treatment (so far anyway!) seems top notch in terms of highly expert consultations. It’s too soon to tell how effective my treatment is, but I feel im in good, safe hands.

Professor Axford is clearly a highly experienced specialist and provided me with a very comprehensive verbal and physical examination, support and advice. I was really in a great deal of pain and my lifestyle was deteriorating drastically. Prof Axford took these points into his assessment and provided immediate advice and treatment which has turned me around! As I learn more about PMR, I really appreciate that his life long professional experience in this area of work and will continue to learn from his guidance, as am sure many others have benefited. On Monday 1st December, at 12.30pm, I attended the ONE Ashford Hospital, for a total knee replacement. Within a short space of time I was ushered into my room, and eventually changed into a theatre gown. I was then taken to be prepared for my operation. This whole process was pleasant, reassuring, and very professional. Afterwards, I was returned to my room, and given all the attention I could wish for by the nurses, physiotherapists, and catering staff. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them, likewise for the Tuesday, when I was discharged in the afternoon.

I was very impressed with this place. I am an NHS patient so have never been before. It was clean and tidy. The decor was modern and if you have a fear or hospitals or.drs it.doesnt feel like a medical place. Staff so friendly. Toilets were clean and soap and handcream dispensers full. Wait time was a little longer than expected but I heard nurses saying patients had been double booked. I was still in and out within 2 hrs. I'd had a consult, 2 scans and my results in this time. I wish I could afford to go here all the time.

I came in to see Urja after experiencing months of tightness in the body. I also had a chest infection a couple months before and it left me with a lot of tightness in my chest/lungs and I wasn’t able to breathe at full capacity. Immediately after my session, my body felt like it was 99% back to baseline and I could take a full deep breath again. Emotionally, I also felt so much more free and relieved. I have been coming for a few years now and have always been happy. However yesterday you had a receptionist that I have not met before who I found to be very abrupt, rude and unhelpful. She told me that I could not book a 4pm appointment as you don't do this. However I have always had a 4pm appointment. She said that she would book me for 4pm, but said that the clinic may be closed and I may not be seen. I usually deal with a very lovely lady called Michaela and this has never been an issue.

Very clean and nice waiting area, the coffee & biscuits are much nicer than the Hampshire Clinic. Reception stall very helpful and efficient. The Polish lady who undertook the ECG was excellent, very helpful and explained what was to be done. With the excellent parking area, coffee & biscuits the whole experience was very pleasant.
