Newmedica Leeds. 5* Care from start to finish. My optician at Specsavers suggested it was time to consider cataract surgery and I was offered an NHS referral to my choice of providers. I chose Newmedica Leeds and just over 2-3 weeks later had an initial consultation at Newmedica. Unfortunately my high blood pressure caused some problems and delayed the first cataract operation to my left eye, after 4-5 weeks weeks I had surgery on my first eye and 5-6 weeks later my second eye was done. Without exception all of the staff I met at Newmedica were friendly, helpful, and very caring. The consultant who carried out the procedure on both eyes (Mr. Kamran Khan) took the time to explain the procedure and answer my questions. During the procedures he was reassuring and calmly explained what was happening. Both procedures were carried out successfully and my sight is so much better now. I would like to give a big thank you to Mr Kamran Khan and his team and my Optometrist Summer Elyoussfi and her team for all the care and attention I received. I have no hesitation in recommending Newmedica Leeds.

Dr Milan Anjanappa

In November 2025 after quite high PSA test levels I had a meeting with Dr. Milan Anjanappa and his team and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the (not at all) light 3-4th stage. Since then, I was given treatment under his advice, surveillance and control, which included hormonal therapy, radiotherapy and brachytherapy. Three months later, I was discharged from the Mount Vernon hospital with a fully and successfully completed treatment according to the last consultation, which I owe entirely to Dr. Milan and his team. As a summary of the overall experience, I can attest to the excellent professionalism, prompt diagnosis and treatment and the adequacy and success of said treatment. I was guided during the whole journey with care, support and information, which is exactly what someone with a devastating diagnosis like mine needs. With the utmost respect and gratitude, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Milan Anjanappa and his team. I wish him health and success in what he's doing to contribute to the fight against this most awful of diseases.

Mr Farid truly went above and beyond for me. After being diagnosed with cholecystitis in December and spending a week in hospital, I was eager to seek quick help. Shahid came highly recommended to me - and I’m so glad he did! From the first consultation, it was clear that he was on the ball and was able to fit me in for surgery faster than I’d hoped. My initial hospital experience in December had left me a little shaken, but with Mr Farid I finally felt like I was in safe hands. My operation ended up being a little more tricky than anticipated (or so I’m told!), which makes me even more thankful that I went with a good surgeon. The experience at Spire Hospital Leeds was also top notch, with absolutely wonderful staff (and a great lunch menu!). Mr Farid checked in on me frequently on recovery, which was highly appreciated. From the first appointment with Mr Dabasia, I felt extremely reassured. He clearly explained what was happening with my spine, how this was creating the symptoms I was experiencing and what my options for treatment were. He ensured that I was aware of both the risks of not having and having the surgery (bilateral decompression surgery at two points in my spine). Mr Dabasia also arranged excellent aftercare including physiotherapy and a follow-up appointment 8 weeks post-surgery. The operation was a complete success and Mr Dabasia checked on my recovery and how the wound was healing at the 8 week check. He was again very professional, ensuring that I was recovering well and knew how to contact him if I did have any concerns.

At consultation, Professor Field provided a full explanation of my condition and what was needed - a full hip replacement. This was carried out a few weeks later and went very well. Awoke with only a little discomfort. Able to walk with crutches that afternoon. Professor Field was there to provide support after the operation and throughout. Stayed overnight and returned home the day after. Recovery has been steady since amd two wees later am now really starting to see the benefits which will hopefully continue. Professor Field was there amd his team has provided continuing support since returning home with follow up calls which have been very welcome and reassuring. Very pleased with the treatment and care.

Dr Coker always presents in a professional yet approachable manner. She is very clear in explaining any tests results; her treatment plan; and any further investigations she thinks should be undertaken. The language she uses is accessible. She is receptive to answering any questions I might have. She promptly keeps my general practitioner informed of my current treatment, to ensure my medical care is managed holistically. The surgery itself went very smoothly with an epidural and sedation and post-op the care was thorough and well co-ordinated. I'd been forewarned that it was a painful operation but still I needed to experience this first hand. With the kind support of family and friends (they formed a 'I Love my New Knee' Whatsapp group to liaise with one another) my good recovery has taken me by surprise.
