I really can't recommend Pride in Health enough. After wanting to pursue HRT (mircodosing testosterone) for about 4 years, I was pretty anxious to start navigating the private route after giving up waiting for an NHS appointment. I had in fact initially already booked an assessment with a different private clinic, but after reading more recommendations about PinH I decided to cancel my other assessment and switch to them and I am so happy I did! The team has been truly fantastic - the response time to any queries (and I've had many) has been very fast, often in a few hours, or at most a couple of days. My initial assessment was a really affirming experience - the assessor was incredibly kind, understanding, and I walked away feeling more affirmed in my identity rather than feeling I was being diagnosed with something 'faulty'. The PinH team were amazing with trying to move my appointments along as quickly as possible, despite some curveballs, as I was going away for a month and trying to pick up my prescription before then. In all, PinH has really offered truly affirming trans healthcare, rather than anything just trying to profit of gender affirming care - the fact it seems to be the quickest and cheapest private route too on top of everything else is really just amazing. I had my shoulder replacement there and spent 2 nights as well (Thurs and Fri). The nursing staff and health assistants were brilliant and attentive, which I really appreciated. My only complaint is about the food staff/team, and to some degree the food itself. The food is just above ok, clearly institutional, but not with a lot of awareness of how a patient may need to handle or access the food. This may be because most of the overnight patients are there for knee or hip surgery. I don't know. But with a shoulder replacement, I can't cut anything (I tried to order things I could pick up or stab) but things like I could barely get the cling wrap off the plates so I could actually access the food were disappointing. There were times I had to eat with my one good hand, no utensil. At no point did any of the food staff notice or do anything like offer to take the cling film off for me, etc. Very perfunctory and in light of the other care received there, really stood out as lacking.

I was treated by Mr Balaggan following a routine eye examination which highlighted a bleed at the back of my eye. Following tests, he diagnosed Central Retinal Vein Occlusion, related to macular oedema, which requires ongoing Eylea eye injections. I was panicked about the injections, but he put me at ease with his calm confidence and gentle manner. He clearly explains conditions and procedures and takes time to answer all questions. I have received 4 injections so far: all have gone smoothly. My eyesight has improved dramatically, thanks to his expertise. Mr Balaggan is highly professional, knowledgeable and thorough.. According to the nurses in the ophthalmology department, Mr Balaggan is top of his field and fabulous to work with.

I went for a CT colonoscopy scan. The scan itself and people were amazing. I cannot commend them more. I am thankful for all the professionals who conducted this. HOWEVER, I was appalled by the imaging reception staff who were rude and quite frankly nasty to me. I have never been screamed at by staff to sit down when waiting to ask about my appointment. The woman’s name was Edgy and she was with an older guy with glasses. They evidently were having a bad day and as the reception was a mix of NHS and private patients they felt entitled to talk to everyone in a demeaning manor. I felt insulted and hurt when already nervous about the procedure I was having. They need to learn to be kind to sick people.

Mr. Herzog listened attentively to my concerns regarding my back and promptly arranged an immediate X-ray, without the need for a separate appointment. He subsequently reviewed the X-ray results and carefully explained his findings, taking the time to answer all of my questions in clear, understandable terms. He then outlined the next steps, including an MRI and a follow-up consultation. I left my initial appointment feeling confident that my condition was being thoroughly investigated and that I had a clear understanding of the findings to date. I found Mr. Herzog to be highly professional and, most importantly, approachable. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

It was such a breath of fresh air to have a doctor turn up to appointments actually having read your notes and so could offer something useful. At our previous clinic we had been told there weren’t really any other options but Ali seemed to have plenty of options for us to try which have been positive so far. To be honest even if we didn’t have a better outcome all we wanted was another option to try so we could at least say we’d tried everything. Ali is really professional but on a personal level as well and we felt as if he genuinely cared rather than just pushing us towards more ivf without addressing the root cause.

I had an upper blephoraplasty and lower pinch operation on my eyes. From the initial consultation through to the operation and follow up appointments all of the staff have been amazing. They are friendly, professional and very reassuring, which is essential when you are a nervous patient. Nothing is too much trouble. The clinic is spotless and has a very calm and welcoming atmosphere. My surgeon, Professor Miranda, fully explained the procedure and is friendly and approachable. Lewis who is the surgical coordinator is an absolute gem and a pleasure to talk with. Overall, I highly recommend the clinic

I was hoping that I would have at least a physical examination rather than just be told that I would have to have a procedure in three or four months time. I felt that as I had already had an MRI scan several months earlier & a telephone consultation there was no necessity to have a face to face meeting with the consultant just to repeat my symptoms, as it was a further waste of time for me to drive all the way to Ashford for a 5 minute interview.
