In August 2025, due to the long delays at Luton and Dunstable, they offered for me to be seen as an NHS patient at One Stop (OSD) Clinic at Hemel Hempstead, where I was seen by Dr Mittel. Following a consultation, he advised that I be referred back to L&D for a hysterectomy (he could not do overnight procedures at his clinic) and prescribed Ryeqo, a medication that suppresses ovarian function and includes HRT. However, I was not provided with a NHS prescription for Ryeqo, as Dr Mittel did not have the necessary NHS prescription pad and advised that it must come from an NHS consultant. I have since discovered that my GP is unable to prescribe Ryeqo and that this must indeed be handled by a hospital consultant. I am unable to afford this medication privately, as it costs approximately £100 per month. With no consultant to prescribe the medication on the NHS, I am therefore left without treatment and unclear as to whether I am even on the waiting list for a hysterectomy. To add to my distress, my interactions with Dr Mittel have been upsetting. During our initial consultation, when I asked about potential side effects of Ryeqo, he responded inappropriately by laughing and comparing the risks to getting on a bus or plane. He failed to explain that only a consultant could prescribe the medication on the NHS, and I had to research this information myself. He also failed to talk me through any of the potential side effects which again I have now researched myself. At a subsequent appointment for a hysteroscopy, when I attempted to raise my concerns about still not being able to get the NHS Ryeqo prescription (as advised by his secretary), he dismissed the issue, saying it was not the right time to discuss it. Instead, he began venting his frustrations about NHS inefficiencies and his personal issues with parking as a consultant. This unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour left me extremely upset and in tears just prior to undergoing the procedure. Although he later apologised, stating he was “stressed,” this is not the level of care I expect or deserve as a patient and I wonder if I was his private patient as opposed to an NHS patient his manner would have been the same.

Dr. James Noake is not only a phenomenal doctor but also a truly exceptional person. His clinical expertise, commitment, and compassion enabled me to achieve something that had once felt impossible, and I will be forever grateful for his care. I had been training for seven months to take on a double marathon in memory of my brother, who tragically took his own life just over a year ago. The run meant everything to me — not just as a personal challenge, but as a way to honour him and raise money for The Hunchman Trust, a charity that supports young people navigating grief, especially after suicide. By the time race day was in sight, I had already raised £28,000, and the weight of expectation — from myself and from those supporting me — felt enormous. Seventeen days before the event, disaster struck. I was injured, and despite visits to a physio, I was in terrible shape. With less than two weeks to go, I was convinced my dream was over. It was then that my physio referred me to Dr. James Noake, who, upon hearing my story, went to great lengths to fit me into his schedule. My case was complicated. I had an inflamed Kager’s fat pad and a trapped sural nerve, problems made even harder to diagnose because of a previous ankle reconstruction back in 2019. Where others had struggled, Dr. Noake immediately identified the issue. The very next morning, he came in early to give me the treatment and injections I desperately needed. What happened next felt nothing short of remarkable. Days earlier I had been ready to give up, certain I’d have to withdraw from the race. Instead, with Dr. Noake’s expertise and guidance, I was not only able to start but to finish the double marathon. Throughout the event, he made himself available, checking in, offering advice, and guiding me on what I could and couldn’t do to protect myself. Thanks to him, I was able to cross that finish line and, more importantly, honour my brother’s memory in the way I had hoped.

Was brilliant! For a few of days I was having worsening pain in my ear - I couldn't get a GP appointment, and the pharmacist wasn’t able to do anything as couldn’t look in my ear or prescribe. By Saturday morning I was having horrendous pain / infection / bleeding from the ear. Was not appropriate for A&E or UTC. I couldn’t wait for the GP to open Monday, and being a single mum to a 2 year old I just needed something desperately. So on Saturday morning I went online and found this place. I phoned and had an immediate appointment sorted in minutes. Drove to the Doctors lounge, seen straight away. Brilliant Doctor, really understanding and helpful. Took a history, examined me and prescribed me what I needed. She was also really patient with my 2 year old (even let her listen to her toy giraffe with her stethoscope). When I left, I went straight to get my prescription and it was all sorted. Started taking the medicine right away and the relief was huge. Also just felt really reassured that I had been seen by a professional about this as was staring to worry. Can’t fault it at all. Will absolutely use this Doctors Lounge again if needed.

Dr Eduardo Di Cuffa is a great doctor. It’s difficult to summarise in words how appreciative I am for his time and his advice. I felt listened to without judgement, with all of my concerns being explored on a deeper level. He asked appropriate and explorative questions that pivoted the appointment to help bring clearer understanding and precedence to certain issues that I had otherwise maybe not been actively prioritising (but they definitely needed to be). He honoured my personal held beliefs when discussing treatment options, but also offered his insight and opinions. It created a safe environment, where refreshing and open conversations could be had where different thoughts and opinions could exist. He’s kind, intelligent, informative, empathetic, understanding and I really felt the desire he has to help. I cannot recommend him as a doctor enough.

I saw Mr Yasin for an appointment following a spinal procedure. It was really nice that he recognised me in the waiting room. His manner is calm, friendly and very supportive. He showed me the x-rays of the procedure and explained everything that he had done during the procedure. I was delighted to be able to tell him that, rather than before the procedure when I was unable to walk any distance, I am now able to walk upwards of 15000 steps with no pain. I'm thrilled with the outcome and very grateful that I was lucky enough to come under his care. He has made a huge difference to my life and I can't thank him enough.

I had the good fortune to move to the South and attended The Royal Brompton where I saw Dr Shah, who started me on biologics and after 10 monthly injections I have not needed my steroids since February and not used my inhalers for the last 3 months. I am most grateful to Dr Shah for transforming my life. I am able to help look after my 2 grandchildren age 7 and 5. I can walk without getting short of breath.
