Dr Bhattacharyya recently carried out surgery on my left knee involving PCL reconstruction with an allograft and repair on my medial ligament at Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow. His initial assessment and advice of my injury was thorough, easy to understand, and really helped me feel prepared and confident going into the procedure. Everything about the surgery and procedure he was undertaking was explained clearly, including what to expect and how to manage the days leading up to surgery. The surgery itself went well with no complications. Post-op, the guidance and reassurance I have received so far has been excellent. The explanations about recovery, mobility, and rehabilitation were practical and supportive, which made a big difference in helping me navigate the early stages of recovery. I’m three months post surgery, the wound has healed very well and the knee is recovering great. My mobility is continuing to improve and I’m very pleased with how things have went. I’d like to thank Dr Bhattacharyya for the high level of care, professionalism, and expertise and that has made what could have been a stressful experience much easier.

I reached out to TCM after I was told that I had a very low AMH and AFC and that I would likely go through early menopause. This caused me a lot of stress as I had always had regular periods and had never considered that I may have fertility troubles. Prof Au talked me through my results and educated me on AMH as a poor predictor for menopause. He advised me that I would need further bloods to fully assess my fertility and I was able to request them from my GP. Following this he reviewed my bloods with me again, without charge, and advised me that everything was normal and I did not need to be seen at TCM. A very professional doctor who is clearly well informed and very capable. It has been just under 7 weeks since my Total Knee Replacement on my left knee and already I am able to walk without any aids. I can straighten my leg and bend in excess of 110 degrees, and my wound has healed very well with only moderate scarring. Mt Kotecha also carried out a Total Hip Replacement (right hip) earlier in the year and I would recommend him without hesitation. His support team at Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull have also been outstanding.

The New Vic --- now known as the 'BUPA New Victoria' --- is a smallish but excellent private hospital situated just off the A3 between Wimbledon and Kingston. It has recently been enlarged and its large Reception is now most welcoming. So far as I know, the rooms are all of the ground floor and overlook well-maintained gardens. Surgical procedures that my family and I have had at the New Vic over the last thirty years have all been trouble-free and successful.

Unfortunately, the registration form I had completed online for the consultation seemed to have gone missing. The form that was presented had an address from over 30 years ago!! Not a good start, but thereafter things went smoothly. However, when an invoice recently arrived for a previous stress test and blood test, no account had been taken of the fact that I paid for the stress test on the day I took the test. Overall, there have been some administrative failings.

To charge the same fee as that charged for a face to face is not defendable or reflective of the standards of integrity I expect from practitioners of this level. The letter that follows simply restates the facts that do not merit a charge of£450 for 27 minutes. The next steps then advocated are those which could be asked for without this money harvesting exercise. I found it insulting.

Whilst the initial administrative/communication aspects were less than convincing, that was certainly not the case whenever I was actually on the Spire premises. All the staff on my 2 day stay for the operation were fantastic, and likewise my subsequent post op attendances for wound check, clip removal and physio sessions were of the highest quality.
