Dr Felix Chua graduated in 1995 from the University of London, where he received undergraduate prizes and a distinction.
During his higher specialist training, he was awarded a Wellcome Research Training Fellowship to complete a PhD. His research investigated mechanisms that promote pulmonary fibrosis – scarring on the lungs. He completed his PhD in 2006.
His general professional training was undertaken at Hammersmith Hospital and University College Hospital-based rotations. His higher specialist training was undertaken at Royal Brompton Hospital and associated institutions.
In 2007, he established an interstitial lung disease (ILD) clinic at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London. He also led the Tuberculosis (TB) Chest service at the hospital and from 2011 to 2014 he was the care group lead for respiratory medicine.
In September 2014, Dr Chua joined Royal Brompton Hospital, where he treats both NHS and private patients.
