Criterion A Psychology Services provides psychological therapy and expert witness for those of us who have experienced trauma-including forms of abuse, bullying, anxiety, bereavement, depression, psychosis and many more issues that may require a high standard of professional and expert interventions.

Criterion A Psychology Services was established to meet the demand for experienced clinical psychologists to provide services to people around the world who have been or are involved with traumatic events. We provide expert witness, training and consultation and treatment. We operate by having a bank of staff who are recruited for specific projects as well as core contracted staff.

Criterion A Psychology Services was created by Dr. Brock Chisholm. Dr. Chisholm has extensive experience in working with victims of trauma. He has provided expert witness to several high profile cases and has provided evidence-based psychological intervention to many people suffering complex reactions to traumatic events. He is trained in EMDR, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Narrative Exposure Therapy. Dr. Brock Chisholm is one of the experts for the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative hosted by The Stabilisation Unit under the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The initiative was created by UK Foreign Secretary William Hague.

Individual psychological therapy is not sufficient for many survivors of trauma. That is why Criterion A provides a comprehensive service and treatment packages for complicated traumatic stress reactions.

Why Criterion A? Criterion A refers to the traumatic event that can elicit a PTSD reaction. We specialise in providing solutions to people affected by traumatic events.

Kipapa

48 Cleveland Square, Bayswater, London - 7.76 miles
Psychology

Kipapa use psychological therapy, counselling and coaching to help you get out of the world of  "mental illness" into the world of personal wellbeing. We believe it's unhelpful to treat emotional problems as "mental illnesses": they're not just in your mind, they're not like physical illnesses, and  they're not likely to be solved by medication alone. Having emotional problems is more like being in a difficult situation, where an experienced guide can help you get to a better place, and ultimately help you find your path to fulfillment.  As clinicians we're trained in the medical language of illness, diagnosis, symptom, patient, treatment and cure, but we believe it's better to think of life as a journey, where you are the traveller, problems are obstacles in your path, and we are the guides to help you out of the difficulty you're in.

To help navigate this mental world, we've developed software called Psycnav that works like satnav for the mind: when you talk to us, it shows where you've come from in terms of your history, where you are now in terms of your situation, where you want to get to in terms of your goals and values, and how to get there in terms of ways around the obstacles you face. Just as your satnav doesn't just show blocks in the road ahead, but also alternative routes and places where you can get food, so Psycnav helps us identify what approaches will work and what resources will feed you on your journey.

When we use the Psycnav map and think of personal development as a journey, we can put together the different perspectives of CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and other approaches to plan an integrated way forward, that sees you on many levels - physical, personal, interpersonal, and social - and helps you meet all your needs, from survival through to success and spiritual fulfillment, in a step by step way.

Priory Hospital Roehampton first opened its doors in 1872, and it's the organisation's first-ever hospital site. This must be one of the most attractive settings to get the treatment you need, a gorgeous confection of a historic building painted pure white and set within gorgeous landscaped gardens. This place has an impressive 140-year tradition of providing trusted, well-established and cutting edge treatments for a broad range of mental health issues including anxiety, stress, depression, addiction to substances and behaviours, and eating disorders. Their programmes are patient-centred, which means every person who gets treatment has their own unique treatment plan designed with their particular circumstances and needs in mind. Here you'll find residential, outpatient and daycare services, and patients also have access to the local community and nearby leisure facilities. An impressive 98% of patients from the Roehampton acute mental health service said they felt safe during their stay, and 97% said they were made to feel welcome. 95% of patients said they'd recommend Roehampton to a friend, and 99% of patients said they were treated with respect and dignity.
