Dr Chisholm is highly experienced in assisting people who have faced events such as sexual and physical assaults, accidents, bereavements, domestic violence and traumatic childhoods, as well as with adjustment to life events such as bullying or relationship difficulties. Dr Chisholm can assist with presentations of PTSD, anxiety, low mood, depression, phobias, and adjustment difficulties. He is also skilled in working with people who have experienced distressing experiences of hearing voices or unusual beliefs, sometimes referred to as psychosis.
His approach is to use evidence based psychological therapies as recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR. He works collaboratively and compassionately to assist people in making positive emotional and behavioural changes.
He has previously worked in specialist NHS clinics such as The Traumatic Stress Clinic in London for over fifteen years. Dr Brock Chisholm is currently Clinical Director of Criterion A Psychology Services. This is a psychology service which specialises in assisting people and organisations who have experienced traumatic events.
Dr Chisholm is The Clinical Lead and elected board member of the UK Psychological Trauma Society, is a recognised expert by the National Crime Agency and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office run Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative. He is a Trustee of Survivors UK, a charity for survivors of sexual assault. He is HCPC registered, BABCP affiliated and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. He has also provided expert witness in several high profile human rights violation cases and litigations.
Initial appointments are for 90 minutes. Additional appointments are for 60 minutes.
Please note: 24 hours notice are normally required in advance of any appointment. Payment is requested in advance of attendance.
Regrettably, cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice before the
appointment or non-attended appointments without any prior notice are charged
at the full price.
