I spent a night in intensive care, as a preventative measure to forestall any risks to the procedure I had, and was very content with the care I received. Was then transferred to the regular ward as an extra night in hospital turned out to be needed. There seemed to be no problem in organising the extension to my stay. Prior to my procedure, I was very impressed by the care with which the anaesthetist explained the risks, and the attention she was giving to minimising these risks. I felt reassured, and also by the friendly atmosphere in the pre- and post-op room. It was decided I should stay in for an extra night, and I was moved to the regular ward - where the nurses came when needed, but did not engage, and spent no time beyond the particular task of the moment - though the nurse who had responsibility for my care and eventual discharge from hospital did engage in a supportive way. The room and bed were comfortable, but there was a very pervasive and rather nasty smell in the room - which also transferred itself to my clothes which had been put into the cupboard overnight! I mentioned it, and think it needs to be investigated. Altogether the experience was a positive one, and I would definitely recommend the Lister Hospital, and think of it as a friendly environment.

We were very happy with our experience with Eleos Clinic Harley Street. The waiting rooms were beautiful, and our daughter's psychiatrist, Dr. Amber Sadiq, could not have been more compassionate and interested in listening to her. My daughter was instantly put at ease.

Our entire journey from the initial consultation (we were very apprehensive at the time) to the final appointment, was filled with mixed emotions but overall we were treated with such care and understanding throughout, guided by Agi who was always available if we had any urgent questions. For example when it was hot and my son just refused to wear the helmet as it was causing him to sweat profusely- Agi chatted us through such issues giving us clear step by step guidance. Most importantly of all, our son loved his check-ups and always giggled when he was examined! He adapted very quickly to the helmet (he was 4 months old at the time of fitting) and had no issues with it except during the hotter summer months. Helmet was worn from April until August. If you are considering having a helmet fitted, we would say go for the initial consultation and if the asymmetry is obvious to the eye then go for it. We were sceptical about proceeding with the helmet purely due to the fact it was for aesthetic reasons only and felt bad that he would have to sleep in it. But we did not want our son, when older, to ask us why we could have fixed his head shape. He would have had issues wearing bike helmets; hats and even glasses as his ears were misaligned - he had 14mm asymmetry. This glimpse into his future erased any doubts we had. There is also the issue of strangers do not know or understand so be prepared for staring eyes! You’ll quickly ignore like we did so please don’t give their ignorance a second thought!
