Mr Tahir Mirza is an experienced Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Luton & Dunstable, East & North Herts Hospitals. He has a demonstrated history of working in hospitals & the health care industry, skilled in Clinical Research, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Hospitals, Healthcare Management, and Healthcare. He is a strong healthcare service professional with Higher Surgical Training focused on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Speciality Training from Health Education East of England.
He trained in the East of England Deanery, as such, has been a Consultant in this region since 2015. He has trained in allied specialities of ENT and Plastic Surgery, equipping him with a unique and diverse skillset. He also attained the coveted Diploma in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery qualification from The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mr Mirza areas of interest include individualised sleep apnoea/snoring solutions, having helped establish a Sleep Surgery Pathway in the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital for patients with Sleep Disordered Breathing and as an active member of the Sleep Multidisciplinary Team.
He is uniquely placed in being able to offer patients with this debilitating condition a holistic approach, with options including Custom Mandibular Advancement Devices, Soft Tissue and Skeletal Surgeries;
He is also a member of the Head & Neck Multidisciplinary Team and undertakes Microvascular Reconstruction in the Head & Neck region, and a member of the Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team removing skin cancers and undertaking reconstruction as appropriate.
He undertakes Orthognathic Surgery via a Multidisciplinary Team approach and Oral Surgery, including Complex Extractions, Facial Trauma and Salivary Gland Surgery on a frequent basis.
Mr Mirza has also published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, travelling to keep his knowledge base up to date. while also remaining committed as a reviewer for international journals and as faculty in various national courses, helping to train the surgeons of the future.
