Dr Asim Farooq was born in Surrey and raised in Sussex where he attended boarding school at Brighton College. After this, he went on to study medicine at Kings College, London. Dr Phillip Vernon is a practicing GP with a long held interest and significant experience in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. He has a very unique perspective and skill set given his UK medical training. He has combined his medical training in the UK with acupuncture and Chinese medicine to provide harmonious care and treatment for his patients. 

 

“When I read my first book on acupuncture while studying at the Medical School I was intrigued. At the time, there was nothing like it taught in the Western medical world. My first acupuncture course was in 1980 and over the next 30 years I have been studying — and teaching — acupuncture whilst working as a general practitioner.”

 

Since graduating Dr Vernon, alongside his GP training, also developed expertise and training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. He has been tutored in acupuncture by Dr Colin Lessell, George Lewith and Dr Julian Kenyon, taking over the latter’s practice in 1982.
