Mr Smith is an excellent surgeon and did a great job on my operation, however, there was little to no advice pre or post op. He was charming and very approachable with my one appointment with him before the operation, and he then followed this up with a phone call, as I had various questions. Mr Smith obviously visited me in my hospital room, before the operation, to mark the area to be operated on, but I did not then see or hear from him again after the operation at all - despite repeated queries to the nursing staff, as I had a number of queries. I found this rather disconcerting, but ultimately, I presume it is a good sign, that he feels the operation went well and he has no concerns. I would add, that I have never had a general anaesthetic before, and was not prepared for the recovery process, emotions or side effects I would, and continue to feel, 1 week on from the operation - I was given no advice or information on this, and feel this is something that should be taken into consideration, for first timers, such as myself, who have no idea what to expect!

I was referred to Mr Jonathan Wilson for a potential hernia. He was very reassuring, patient and answered all my questions thoroughly, explaining in easy to understand language what the problem was. He was very thorough and helpful in making suggestions and recommendations for alternative treatment as thankfully it was not a hernia. Highly recommend!
