When I was told by my previous surgeon that there was no chance of removing my very awkward polyp internally, and that I need to lose 10 - 12 inches of colon along other important pats including my appendix, I asked for a referral to Dr Despott. That was the best decision I have made in my life. Just a few days after this I was very pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from the man himself. He told me that having studied my notes he was willing to take my case on for internal microsurgery. He went out of his way to explain what was involved and the risks involved and the chances of success and failure. He answered all my questions very thoroughly making sure I understood what was involved. He was very professional but above that his caring attitude shone through. This caring attitude was reflected in every subsequent phone call and meeting including on the day of my operation when he ran through my procedure in detail. Then the operation...Dr Despott is a superhero in disguise! He worked tirelessly for more than 8 hours to detach and remove my polyp. I was sedated but could follow the whole procedure. It was a very difficult involved procedure but, despite the stress and the concentration required, Dr Despott remained calm and controlled the whole time - even managing to teach his colleagues what he was up to. His professional caring manner continued in the days and subsequent when he was checking on my condition. He explained to me that he "treats his patients as though they were members of his family". If you manage to be treated by Dr Despott then you can consider yourself very very fortunate.

A very capable and competent surgeon. I felt confident that I was in good hands. He explained the operation as well as the possible side effects and problems. It proved to be a complex procedure which he performed with great skill. I received good aftercare.

Very professional and approachable. Quickly diagnosed my medical issue and offered ways to manage the problem.

My appointment with Dr Al-Joudeh was a positive experience. He was able to see me quickly and he took time to explain things without rushing. He had a kind and caring manner and I would recommend him to others. If only more doctors were like him.

I had a colonoscopy with Professor Lovat. I was quite nervous as I had never had one before and I was worried it would hurt. Professor Lovat was wonderful, he put me at ease, explained everything before the procedure, told me how I could ask for more sedation during the procedure if necessary, and explained the results afterwards. The procedure was not painful at all and he is clearly extremely skilled at what he does. 100% recommend.

I found Professor Irving to be approachable and very kind. He created a calm and welcoming ambience. Easy to talk to, he took time to answer all my questions in a straightforward manner. I didn't feel rushed at all. What a delight to have found this individual. Within an hour h completely restored my faith in the medical world! I would highly recommended.

Could not be happier or more relieved that I found Dr Selvapatt. He was very concise and seemed to genuinely want to understand not just my situation but also my concerns. I felt he was very thorough and again, genuine in wanting to fully comprehend what was going on with my situation and he took the time to not just explain but offer dialogue with me to help me understand. This genuine approach put me at ease and the gentle tact and bedside manner he displayed with some sensitive topics was extremely appreciated. I will be asking to continue monitoring my situation with Dr Selvapatt simply because he put me at ease so much and seemed invested and knowledgeable. His secretary Natasha also needs a special mention for being very helpful and quick to reply and I can tell my explanations were fully and properly related to Dr Selvapatt prior to my appointment.
