I graduated from the University of Leicester in 1995 going on to complete my specialist training programmes in gastroenterology and general internal medicine through the South East Thames training rotation. I completed my specialist training in 2007.

Working as a specialist registrar at King’s College Hospital and St Georges Hospital provided the perfect foundation before being appointed a consultant post at West Hertfordshire Hospitals in 2008. I am well experienced in all aspects of gastroenterology and liver disease and perform large numbers of both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy.

My research into gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and Barrett’s oesophagus led to me being awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of London. Whilst I see patients across the whole range of GI disorders, my special area of interest is in oesophageal disorders including Barrett's oesophagus and the treatment of early cancers in the upper GI tract. I am currently a member of the Oesophageal section of the British Society of Gastroenterology and lead the tertiary referral service for Radiofrequency ablation and endoscopic resection at West Herts Hospitals. I also have an interest in gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and perform oesophageal physiology testing where indicated.

I have previously been clinical lead for endoscopy services at West Herts Hospitals and am now training lead and represent the Trust on two different regional training committees.
