Following this, he worked in several teaching hospitals in London before being awarded the Fellowship in Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast) by the Royal College of Surgeons.
Dr Willliams developed an interest in hair restoration surgery when treating patients in the NHS with severe burns and post traumatic or post surgical hair loss. He gained early experience in hair transplant techniques in Brazil and Toronto, before spending almost a decade doing transplants in both the NHS and in the private sector.
Before joining the Farjo Hair Institute in 2012, Dr Williams was the Senior Consultant Burn Surgeon at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, which is the only NHS specialist Burn Centre in London. He was also the Clinical Director of the London and South East of England Burn Care Network and the Chair. Dr Williams has been the President of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS) and on its behalf, advised the UK Department of Health on matters to do with hair transplant surgery such as the Health Education England review of the training requirements for cosmetic procedures. He also advised the British Standards Institute on the development of the European Standard for Aesthetic Medicine: Non-Surgical Medical Procedures.
Dr Williams is involved in the education of doctors learning about Hair Transplant Surgery, regularly lectures at aesthetic conferences, is part of the faculty at University College London's Plastic Surgery MSc program, and participates in hair related research.
He was awarded the prestigious 'Fellow' status by the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) in 2014 which recognises senior hair transplant surgeons around the world. He has chaired the ISHRS Ethics Committee and has been faculty on several ISHRS World Live Surgery Workshops and Annual Scientific Meetings including being on the 'coffee with the experts' panel.
It is the combination of the above training and experience that sets Dr Williams apart from many of his hair transplant surgery contemporaries. He now provides world-leading treatment for hair loss, ensuring the techniques used are the most up to date and revolutionary available.
