Mr Thaer Darwish is a German board-certified consultant neurosurgeon based at Medcare Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital. He performs a variety of complex operations, including endoscopic and microscopic minimally invasive lumbar, cervical, and thoracic disc surgeries, vertebral body replacement surgeries, trans-thoracic or microscopic thoracic spine surgery, retroperitoneal lumbar spine surgery, and minimally invasive spinal fixation.

Mr Darwish also has considerable expertise in robotic spine surgery, spine and spinal cord tumour surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, brain tumour surgery (microscopic), traumatic brain injury surgery, and brain & spine vascular surgeries amongst others. He is able to offer his patients conservative pain management for all spinal issues and treats all spinal degenerative changes.

Mr Darwish graduated in 2007 with his medical degree, and later achieved an MD from Harvard Medical School for his research work, before gaining significant professional experience with several German institutions. He is a member of a number of professional organisations including the Medical Association of Germany, the American Association of Neurological Surgery (AANS), the German Society of Neurosurgery (DGNC), and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in the UAE.

Outside of work, Mr Darwish enjoys travelling, sports, and music. He also speaks fluent Arabic, English, and German.
