Dr. Shahid Khan

Dr Shahid Khan is an experienced Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon. He successfully completed his surgical residency in the United Kingdom, earning his UK Board Certification in Orthopaedics and Trauma in 2003. He went on to complete a Specialist Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at prestigious spinal centres in the United Kingdom and the United States. Dr Khan spent 15 years as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Exeter prior to joining Burjeel Hospital Dubai in 2021.

Throughout his career, Dr Khan has acquired numerous professional memberships and associations, these include the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, British Orthopaedic Association, Royal College of Surgeons and the Society of Lateral Access Surgery.

Dr. Khan focuses his practice on spinal conditions, both in adults and children. He has safely performed procedures on all segments of the spine, and is interested in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. He is highly skilled in a range of procedures, his clinical expertise include:

• Degenerative spine conditions of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine, offering anterior, posterior, and minimally invasive lateral surgeries
• Spinal traumatology of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, including vertebral body replacement
• Spinal infections (spondylodiscitis, discitis, epidural abscesses)
• Spinal tumour surgery, including tumour debulking and stabilisation in all spinal sections
