Dr Majid Bassuni is a British Consultant Bariatric and Laparoscopic Surgeon with over two decades of experience of minimally invasive surgery for colon, rectum and stomach diseases. He sees private patients at Fakeeh University Hospital.

Dr Bassuni gained his primary medical qualification at Alexandria University in 1982, after which he trained at University Hospital of Wales, St Marks Hospital and Birmingham Heartland Hospital. He then continued his training in France and Italy, and was later appointed Consultant in 2000. Since his appointment, Dr Bassuni has also become an accredited trainer in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening and in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery.

Dr Bassuni is also an active member of the research community, authoring various papers in medical journals and acting as a guest speaker at Laparoscopic and Colorectal Surgery conferences. Since qualifying, Dr Bassuni has created Enhanced Recovery Post-Surgery programmes in both the UK and UAE, in addition to his surgical training programmes and workshops for medical professionals in the laparoscopic surgery field to better help patients with pelvic floor disorders. Dr Bassuni has also established his own Medico-legal practice after gaining his postgraduate certification in Medical Law from the University of Glasgow, where he assists patients who have suffered medical negligence during Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgery.
