Dr Khawla M. Belhoul is a Consultant in Internal Medicine specialising in Haematology. She has over 25 years of clinical experience in Haematology and is currently based in Dubai at United Medical Center. She qualified at Kuwait University in 1986 and later moved to the UK and was awarded her Membership with the Royal College of Physicians of London. She later became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and completed her postgraduate training in haematology at the world renowned Imperial College School of Medicine in London.

Before joining United Medical Center in 2019, Dr Belhoul practiced at Latifa Hospital for 6 years, followed by a position of Center Director and Consultant Haematologist at the Dubai Thalassemia Center. She has clinical and research in benign blood disorders and haemoglobinopathies. She sees patients with the following conditions at United Medical Center:

• Genetic blood disorders (including sickle cell anaemia and thalassemia)
• Anaemia or polycythaemia vera
• Iron deficiency and iron overload
• Bleeding disorders (including haemophilia and low platelet count)
• Clotting and coagulation disorders

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Belhoul has been a member of several international clinical trials and has published many articles in international peer-reviewed journals. She has also been a key speaker at numerous local and regional conferences.
