About

Johann Delport is a highly specialized Pediatric Physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with children. His special interest in paediatrics is with orthopaedics and musculoskeletal conditions and he also holds extensive experience managing the symptoms of cerebral palsy.

Mr Delport studied at the prestigious Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa before securing a job working at the Paarl School for Children with Cerebral Palsy as well as doing private practice. In 2003 he moved to the United Kingdom to specialise further in Paediatrics. Here he became an integral part of the orthopaedic and spinal team at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London where he had the opportunity to study under Dr R. Graf who pioneered ultrasound for detecting hip dysplasia in infants and is an expert in managing non-surgical cases of DDH.

Mr Delport later became the lead therapist for a team in Birmingham, working specifically on musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. As a specialist in assessing and treating young children with motor difficulties and variations of normal musculoskeletal development, he set up and rewrote all the team’s protocols and pathways to bring them in line with current scientific evidence.

Mr Delport enjoys refereeing rugby games and competing in off-road ultra-marathons.

Johann is without doubt the finest paediatric orthopedic physio in Dubai and it is a real pleasure and honour to work with him. He has detailed knowledge and experience, but most importantly he is fantastic with kids and knows how to trick them into physio when they think they are just playing games! It's an impressive skill!!
