Dr. Hesham is a highly skilled and experienced hip and knee surgeon specialising in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements and sports injuries. He completed his training in London at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore as well as the internationally renowned Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Western in Canada.
Dr Hesham has also trained at the ENDOKlinik in Hamburg and Harborview Hospital in Seattle gaining extensive experience in total knee and hip replacement surgery, and furthering his experience in different nation's healthcare systems.
He worked as Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at King Hamad University Hospital in Bahrain and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland before relocating to the UAE joining Mediclinic City Hospital. Dr. Al Khateeb is highly experienced in in hip arthroscopy, direct anterior total hip arthroplasty, hip resurfacing and uni-compartment knee arthroplasty; and has completed a large number of these surgical procedures with excellent results.
Dr. Hesham is active in the field of research and has completed extensive research in orthopaedics and trauma and has received numerous awards including the NHS Innovation award and the Norman Capener Award from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has published and presented several research projects in international journals and meetings.

My experience with Dr. Hesham was great. He explained everything to me in terms that were easy to understand. When I panicked about the thought of getting both of my knees operated at the same time on the day of the surgery, he was very empathetic and patient with me: he suggested we operate one knee at a time even though my decision was quite last minute and indecisive. Post surgery he was also very present and made sure I was comfortable and ready to rumble before I left.
